jedion357 September 8, 2014 - 7:11pm | I want to be the first to comment and state that we're holding the poll in conjunction with a review article on the possible answers to who the gorlians are and will post results of the poll in the fan zine. Please comment on your poll choice as we are looking for the feedback. I like or have liked all of the above options at one time or another but I'm going to go with Guna Garu as I feel that it captures the essence of the orginal comment in the rules. It was presented as an example of a PER check and had the feel of a speed bump tossed in by the referee. Almost all of the options would be something special added to the setting while a Gorlian thug is just a generic thug from Guna Garu, a stereotypical mean tough customer. They are not from any particular clan just a generic thug from Guna Garu with a bad reputation. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

Ascent September 9, 2014 - 8:05pm | For the official record, it's "Gruna Goru". (Per the original rules.) And it is not a "mistranslation". I suggested that "Goru" is simply a base word for Gorlian. Noted, and my bad on the spelling. I wont edit the poll because I believe doing so zeros out the votes. For the official record, it's "Gruna Goru". (Per the original rules.) And it is not a "mistranslation". I suggested that "Goru" is simply a base word for Gorlian. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
thespiritcoyote October 12, 2014 - 3:34pm | A large Yazirian Racial Clan, and playable character template, that has settled on Guna Garu, and is highly competitive with the rest of the Yazirian Industrial, Political, and Religious sectors... amongst Yazirians they have a reputation for being scum-bag pirates and rebellious terrorists -- the rest of the frontier knows them as very capable merchants, mercenaries, and medical responders... if they know anything about the politics and business in Yazirian Exclusionary Space at all.

JCab747 April 13, 2016 - 8:36am | Well, I've seen this poll question for a bit. Personally, I decided to use the playable race idea using the Gorlians and having them come from a planet in a star system on the Frontier map. The species in Star Frontiersman magazine would be great on heavy gravity planets such as New Pale. I also understand the point of view about it being a cadre of thugs or a mistranslation for Guna Garu... But I vote for a playable race. Joe Cabadas |
