jedion357 September 1, 2011 - 2:03pm | Hey started a thread to discuss the organization of a Virtual Con Here: http://www.starfrontiers.us/node/5629 but since that project has limited membership I'm sending this notice to pull more of you in, even if you just offer ideas and dont want to participate in organizing it. If we can get some interest in it I think it would be a great activity for the 30th anniversary of Star Frontiers Please stop by the Conventions project and discuss. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
TerlObar April 11, 2012 - 9:13am | The patches just arrived at my door and they look great. I'll be shipping them out to those that ordered them this week. They will be coming by normal 1st class mail. If you signed up for the Con and haven't ordered yours yet, now would be the time to do so. If you didn't sign up for the con, you'll still have a chance to get one if you want, but you'll have to wait a bit. Part of the agreement with WOTC is that they can't just be made generally available. For those of you who will be running games at other Cons this year. If you want to buy some extras to give away to your game participants, contact me directly. The agreement I have with WOTC says that they cannot be used for commerical purposes, but using them as givaways at cons is fine. Ad Astra Per Ardua! jedion357 April 11, 2012 - 2:18pm | Soo....if I invited over some gaming buddies and ran a quote unquote con at my kitchen table I could buy and give these out? Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. No seriously that's cool, thank you Tom for setting this up. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
TerlObar April 11, 2012 - 3:04pm | Sure, jedi. Actually, I think making them available here on the site doesn't count as generally available so I will be making them available here as well. The exact wording is: Wizards hereby grants you a one-time limited permission to create a patch, provided that it is solely for non-commercial use. As such, you agree not to sell this patch to any member of the public at large. I don't think we're the public at large. I'm just going to wait a bit to give any of the Con attendees who haven't ordered one yet a chance to do so. (And there are a few that played in games that haven't ordered and who I assume would want a patch). I'm planning on at least making them available again at the next Virtual Con later this year, proabably coming in August or September. And for those of you that already placed your orders, I just got back from the post office. They are in the mail. Ad Astra Per Ardua!
