jedion357 June 28, 2015 - 2:48am | http://www.deviantart.com/art/4-538940936 found the above on deviant art and it looks like a possibility for locomotive plant, not perhaps aggressively dangerous like say a losso dragon but something that could populate an ecosystem with hundreds of varietys and a few specials: One that is potentially dangerous causing damage to characters in the classic sense, one that is poisonous, one that is medicinal and etc. able to move at slow speed to seek new resources then it sets down its leg/roots most likely a type of fungus or something similar. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

jedion357 June 28, 2015 - 6:44am | I'm toying with this for a fungal type plant animal for Osak Perhaps called a fungal creeper or fungal spider Perhaps there is even a hermit crab version where the fungal cap and the crab have a symbiotic relationship- the crab provides locomotion and access to nutrients while the fungal cap produces nutrients the crab cannot get any other way. Tchklinxa June 28, 2015 - 10:21am | http://mars-hill.deviantart.com/art/5-539381852 I also liked these from same site for Janus type critters walking plant moluscs, I was already thinking of some similiar critters more stationary, but more along the lines of land clams/oyesters, parsites that live on the bigger land critters, and other weird sea-land plant animal crosses. Here's your "hermit crab" All I can say is wow to the art on the site. "Never fire a laser at a mirror." |
iggy June 28, 2015 - 1:08pm | I agree it belongs on Osak. I see it as a killer that slowly lowers itself over a resting victim and then coats it in a sticky fibrous net of thread roots to hold and suck the juices out of the victim. -iggy |

SFAndroid June 29, 2015 - 4:43am | Google "Cotati" and look at the Cotati(comics) link on Wikipedia. You can't argue with the invincibly ignorant. - William F. Buckley |
jedion357 June 29, 2015 - 7:41am | Rifting off of the cotati with their telepathy- what if a plant emmitted a sub sonic vibration that while not audible is still sensed and sets characters on edge. Possible mechanism for the on edge effect: -1 IM, -10 to PER/LDR or some other penalty though there would a +10 to battle rage.
