jedion357 January 9, 2013 - 8:41pm | Caught pieces of Breakheart Pass (1975) and thought there was material there for a SF adventure but I'm catching pieces of Demolition Man (1993) and dont think there is much there for using despite the Sci-fi theme I guess the western is a better fit for SF then the sci-fi dark topia flick funny how that is. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
AZ_GAMER January 9, 2013 - 8:49pm | Actually the scenes where the police are trying to arrest Simon in the city and later the food riot all fit the Port Loren Map and scenery really well. It could easily be written into a Pan Gal agent storyline either trying to aprehend a sathar agent or fighting to get away from local authorities. The food riot scene could also play out as a protestors attack a Pan Gal delivery that the PC's are tasked with protecting. Are the PC's on side of might or right, why are the protestors attacking? should the PC's intervene on the part of the protestors or protect the convoy. Cryo Prison - oh come on, classic, the PC's are sent to apprehend an escape convict that has escaped cryo pen. Now of course all of this requires some serious modification but it still could easily fit into Alpha Dawn. |
jedion357 January 9, 2013 - 11:34pm | Sorry, I just liked Breakheart Pass, instead of a train its a misjumped ship. Simple story line that fits the SF milieu. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
rattraveller January 10, 2013 - 4:52am | There is always an idea to be pulled from movies, books and even ereaders especially if they Sci-Fi or action/adventure stories. Even fantasy could be pulled in with a few tweaks. Heck everyone knows Stars Wars is just a fantasy story rewriten with blasters and starships. Try this, if you have Netflix take they next movie they recommend, watch it no matter how horrible and then written down three adventure ideas from it. My last movie was Robotopolis. probably more than three ideas there even though it was really horrible. Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go? |
