I've started sketching out this article and wanted to know what you thought about providing a list of ships already stated out, as opposed to providing a ship building system. The table would look like the Non-civilian Duty Vehicles article I wrote.

Questions?

Non-civilian meaning military?
I'm not overly fond of Zeb's Guide...nor do I have any qualms stating why. Tongue out

Yes, as in taking a civilian vehicle and adding a military duty package.

This could go with the pirate series of articles since upgunning civilian ships would be necessary when the Sathar Wars start to make up for the military craft sent to the fronts. They could be like the National Guard called up to take over duties like smuggling intervention and outpost patrolling that the UPF and Militias can't do since they are off fighting the Sathar.
Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go?

I find the designation non civilian duty confusing. Better to use civilian, military and para military. IMHO.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

That threw me too, when I think non-civilian I think military.

In defense of the title, non-civilian == military. The title was chosen based on taking a civilian vehicle and applying a "duty" modification such as:
  • corporate,
  • security
  • paramilitary
  • military
The system is designed to build four different levels of militarized vehicle. For instance, say you need a hover tank for the upcoming Laco's War; pick a base vehicle, let's use the "hover transport" from the vehicle list, apply the military modification and What-For! you have a powerful military vehicle designed for the battlefield - nothing on this vehicle says "civilian".

Excellent suggestion, would you say these vehicles could receive at the maximum a para-military package?

@ w00t: you're trying to invent a new designation and its actually jarring mentally, as the reader has to stop and think what that new pairing of words means. There already is the designation of military and civilian and so some extent paramilitary. These are widely recognized and understood. I'd drop the new designation for better communication of ideas.
