Ultra Tech Brainstorm Thread

One of the key stones of Star Frontiers has been that the technology is only a little more advanced then today's tech.

What are the sorts of technology that geeks in the actual Star Frontiers setting playing a RPG would be envisioned as a little (or a lot) beyond their present technology?

In other words what are the Ultra technologies?

1. Artificial gravity (an obvious one)

2. Quantum Computers- able to use quantum mechanics to compute millions of outcomes in a sec and come up with the correct answer. CPU of such a device would be the size of a pin head. Power of this thing is mind blowing

3. I would contend that sub space radios and matter transmission (bap bins) is on par with this level of tech. One reason I make sub space radios unavailable in early history games. and bap bins a post SW2 item.

other ideas?
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

4. Fusion Reactors & Engines
5. Matter Re-Sequencers (I.E. Replicator Type Devices)
6. Tractor / Repulsor Beams, Weapons (AKA Gravity Weapons), Field Generators
7. Force Fields
8. Space Fold FTL Drives
9. Nano-Tech & Nano Medicine
10. Teleportation (Beyond basic bap bins)

Ultra miniaturization - computer weapons, power sources.  i.e. a "laser pistol" that is the equivalent of "current" heavy laser that has a 200 SEU clip, body comps that can hold dozens of level 6 programs, etc.

On a side note, I don't think sub-space radios should be future tech. The opening blurb in the AD basic rules state that the three races were communication via subspace radio long before they ever developed FTL and met in person.  However, a more advanced form of subspace radio (i.e. one ly per minute instead of one ly per hour) would definitely qualify.

11. Neural-interface devices and virtual-reality.
12. Radios and electronics built on quantum entanglement.
13. Rays or sound-waves that manipulate emotions.
14. Genetic manipulation.
15. Intelligent polymorphic-materials.

Foot in mouth

Jedion, get a copy of D20 Future and Future Tech. Great resources.

I second that w00t...

18.) Nanotech Neural Network Proccesors
19.) Nanotech Global Telepath Linkage
20.) Nanotech Universal Machine Controllers
21.) Inter-Galactic Star-Core/System-Sphere Ships
22.) Temporal Grenades
23.) Dimensional-Phase Screens
24.) Trans-Dimesional Side-Slip Bins
25.) the suffix Be- taken from root words in an archaic language (such as Beyond, Behind, Beside, Belife and B4) and belived to have the meaning similar to the way the Trans- suffix is used in popular "modern" frontier culture... selected for use in several Frontier RPG's specificaly because it crosses the four "phonimic barriers" easily.
26.) Quantum-flux recharging Sigularity-wave Energy batteries the size of a 20th century 9volt with unlimited potential generation, storage, and universal connectors... called MPZ's (Mole-Point Zebs)
Oh humans!! Innocent We discover a galactic community filled with multiple species of aliens, and the first thing we think about is "how can we have sex with them?".

How could I forget this one: Wrath of Kahn and the Genesis Torpedo.
