TSC Magdalina is a cool looking ship

Refer to: SC-181 Courier.

was not expecting a vertical deck arrangement with this one from the look of it. Obviously atmospheric capable, is there a belly hatch for the crew to debark once on the ground?

I very much like this design in particular.
A good starting ship for the PCs

How does your rule on Light armor work?
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

I made a few revisions, nothing major but I finished off the bridge (lots of empty space on last night's submission). I still have to belt out the history, she's an old ship that predates the UPF (it will tie in with the Truane's Star pf-100 game I have been blowing off lately LOL). Little bit of trivia behind the markings --- I lifted those designations from the B-17 Memphis Belle had, and I adopted the colors as well. The emblem is merely a coat of arms I designed for Truane's Star.
I swapped the Belle for a chubby gal on the wing, as the ship profile reminded me of a big girl bending over with her arms spread out.

Yes, atmospheric capable. The belly hatch is the sole access point in and out, works both in space and on teh ground as such. The holds are only accessible from their loading ramps (there is no crew to hold access), with said ramps controled via the bridge or engineering.

Light armor adds one point per hull size at double hull cost, no performance modifiers (streamlining adds another 10% to hull cost, after armor cost is figured in). Medium armor triples the hull cost and suffers a -1 ADF or MR penalty, (builder's choice) and adds two HP per hull size, heavy armor quadruples hull costs and deducts two from ADF and/or MR (again, builder's choice) and adds 3HP per hull size.

It melds well with the KH rules for the most part when dealing with warships...the frigate has heavy armor at 8HP per HS but like the assault scout has major tweaks for performance (Pan Galactic Eurekas? etc). The destroyer comes in at 2HP above that formula, but has reduced performance by comparison. The battleship obviously has light armor at no penalties (6HP x 20 = 120HP). While warships follow their own (unwritten) rules, I feel it's a fair and honest assesment that gives and takes equally in the civilian world...for those willing to fork out the extra coin anyways.

Nice, wish there was a deckplan though. The link is broken.

Yeah we can all thank the sawed off little prick that runs Colonial Chrome for making a huge stink that I used variations of a few of his designs. He seems to think he has the copyright on pixels. Hence, the pic links are not broken...they've simply been removed.

Of course here's the fun part...

He has not updated the site in over two years. He claims it is not public domain yet no passwords are required to access the site...meaning anyone can access it, which is pretty much public domain? US copyright laws have some clause concerning lack of use, I won't pretend to know those laws but there's no point in bringing heat down on this site.

I just find it humorous how he so willingly borrows other designs, adds his own touches, and claims copyright violation when someone else does the same with his work. Pathetic, really.

Looking at Colonial Chrome's website he states that he derived many of his ships from other sources, novel art, films, etc.  Do any of the ships you removed the links from come from one of these ships where we could use a picture of the original source?

I've used a few of the copied/recopied deck plans in the past (re: second gen for him, third for me, all based on a first gen from someone else). I can't recall which at the moment.

This is what the Magdelina was based on. I added my own tweaks such as air foils and removed the far too many guns on it, and made my own deck plan that did not resemble his at all (whcih, as you can see, may no longer be compared as his deck plan fell off the net). But note the opening text...he did the same.

His beef is that I was using his chair designs, his cockpit/gauge designs, his interior highlights etc. which is all allgedly copyrighted. I have since removed his graphics and added my own back into some of the pics that have been removed since then. I just haven't gotten around to this one yet.

I figure sooner or later that site will fall off the net from total neglect and it will no longer be an an issue at that point. Wink
