Anonymous May 2, 2011 - 6:32pm | Refer to: Star System Generator I've uploaded version 2.0 - still needs some edits. If anyone has time to review that would be awesome. Drop me a line or post in the project. |
thespiritcoyote May 2, 2011 - 10:17pm | I reviewed, Initial Impressions. Oh humans!! We discover a galactic community filled with multiple species of aliens, and the first thing we think about is "how can we have sex with them?". ~ anymoose, somewhere on the net... so... if you square a square it becomes a cube... if you square a cube does it become an octoid? |

drum roll: I've said it before, including white space is not a waste of space, it relieves the eye and makes it easier to read a layout. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
thespiritcoyote May 3, 2011 - 9:18pm | ..Read, Read.. rest.. Read.. rest... Read.. VISUAL!! rest.. Read.. rest... Read.. ..Read, Read.. rest.. Read.. rest... Read.. w00t (not verified) May 4, 2011 - 8:55am | Thank you much, the layout is an older Frontier Space color scheme. I have a bunch of updates (some from Terlobar as well) and would like to submit this to the webzine. :-) |
thespiritcoyote May 4, 2011 - 6:24pm | I hope to get some kind of real physic to base a Cargo Unit on. Abstracts like that in cargo volume and size, tend to give me problems with ship design, and actually break the effect they are trying to accomplish. Other than that, I await the updates... w00t (not verified) May 5, 2011 - 7:28am | Other than that, I await the updates... I believe your are referring to the Precious Resource Table. "A cargo unit (CU) is an abstract unit of measurement that is roughly a one by one meter area." CU comes from the current spaceship creation system (we made several systems). Each class of ship has a certain number of CU's that can be use to add components. As you add components you subtract CU until reaching 0 thus filling the hull with stuff. Almost all ships have a cargo hold which is typically the remainder of the ship after adding components. Speaking of abstract. KH said, "One unit of cargo is the amount of cargo that can be carried in one hull size point. For example, a freighter of hull size 8 can carry 8 units of cargo." What is the size of a hull point? |
thespiritcoyote May 5, 2011 - 11:34am | ok, if I understand that, a Cargo Unit is 1CuM, 1 cubic meter = 1000 liters = 1000 kilograms. With a list of atomic weights on the resources, a simple table could give you the volume, wieght, and therefore base price of a given amount of CU... kewl. If someone needs that much info for some reason, it can be done.... ...need a chart for that, so the conversion is reduced to one or two quick-steps, I'll see what I can come up with. Oh humans!!
