This is just a place holder thread for the inevitable

I dont expect that we'll need multiple threads for this one but if we do we do.

Unless I'm wrong most of this thread will be a discussion of history and societal issues relating to the humma.

I dont think that the race will need as much development as the humma- their intended as a minor Player/Non player race.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

First shot: I think the article in the zine is great and doesn't need much tweeking.
the bit about vrusk and dralasite miners from Fromeltar discovering them wont wash.
The humma discovered them or maybe they discovered the humma- either way is an event that is so ancient the its unknowable. I dont see any reason to change the canon statements about the CFM discovering the Frontier and bringing word of their fight with the sathar.

I plan to leave some isolated bands on Hum holed up in out of the way deserted locations, one or two small perservations. and a large preserve on the planet Larg. All of that just creates opportunity to use them. Even if its that they are a random encounter while adventuring on Hum.
all of these groups of separated boon'sheh will have different attitudes and views due to their experiences.

The cherokee indian from Outlaw Josey Whales seems like a great model for Boon'sheh living on Larg.

comments in the senses paragraphs concerning areas of the brain in overdrive that deal with 3 of the boon'sheh senses- I added a comment that these were evolved as a survival mechanism,

Due to their "danger sense" I was going to also add that they never count as having drawn a weapon (its automatically in their hands when combat happen) and no penalty for having drawn and fired in the same round but I cant find a penalty for drawing a weapon in the AD quick reference tables.

I don't know if there is one.
" 'Beware the Beast, Man, for he is the Devil's pawn. Alone among God's primates, he kills for sport, for lust, for greed. Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother's land. Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of his home and yours. Shun him; drive him back into his jungle lair, for he is the harbinger of death."

There is a modifier to initiative if your rifle is slung or pistol holstered when you go to roll initiative - just spotted the column shift in Zebs and I think its in AD I just have to look.

That said I think the Boon'sheh should get a pass on this, meaning that they suffer no negative to initiative as part of the danger sense spec ability

Holstered and Slung Weapons. If a character's weapon is in a holster or slung over his shoulder, the character must subtract 3 from his Initiative modifier when rolling for initiative. If the character is rolling initiative for a group, the modifier applies to the entire group.
