AZ_GAMER September 6, 2010 - 11:20pm | Here is a short project I put together recently after developing the stats for the USS Peregrine. It tells the story of how the first Human's made it from Earth to the Dark Tempest. For those of you who are not familiar with the Dark Tempest it is an alternate game setting being developed for the Frontierspace RPG as well as Star Frontiers. Many elements of my Titan Rising, fictional comic book universe have tie-ins to the dark tempest setting and are interchangable. This is primarly due to the origin of Titan Rising which is based on a long lived campaign setting that was created for the Star Frontiers game club of my youth. After many years of playing SF we got bored of the standard cannon material and started creating our own races, house rules, and game settings. I hope that you enjoy the story and continue to support my work here. |

w00t (not verified) September 7, 2010 - 10:26am | Absolutely love it. The b&w is great, very gritty feel. I wonder in the coming years if we'll have a drama/comit in the webzine or part of FS. :-) |
Rum Rogue September 7, 2010 - 6:32pm | Nice. Time flies when your having rum. Im a government employee, I dont goof-off. I constructively abuse my time. |
w00t (not verified) September 7, 2010 - 7:37pm | Hey AZ, You know how FTL works in FroniterSpace? Bill and I been kicking around the idea of a device that creates enough gravity to drop a ship out of FTL. Seems like a neat pirate trick or even a military tactic. What do you think? |

AZ_GAMER September 11, 2010 - 1:06pm | Colonists are stored in cryo-stasis for the duration of the trip to conserve space and resources on the ship and provide additional protection for the passengers during FTL. While the passenger is in cryo-stasis they don't consume additional food, produce additional waste, or require living quarters. This greatly reduces the amount of supplies, storage, cargo, life support and living quarters that a ship has to provide. In this situation the voyage was anticipated to last about six months for the colonists to be delivered at their new home on colony planet D-141. |
w00t (not verified) September 14, 2010 - 6:57am | I like the clean look of the panels. Not too busy and the images are placed well to nudge my imagination. |

AZ_GAMER September 20, 2010 - 7:12pm | Part 6 is almost finished and should be ready later this week. I am hoping to wrap this story up with 10 or less segments but that also depends on the size of the art panels. One thing that is different in working with black and white with edge masking is that you loose a lot of sharpness and image clarity so your pictures have to be a little bit larger to keep the definition of the image. This is the main reason why there are only two to three panels on each page. In Part 6 we will learn more about the fate of Captain Alex Vandogen and the unfortunate crew of the starship Peregrine. |
