Gergmaster November 5, 2007 - 1:35pm | Now I am planning to make this entire project into a series of articles for the Star Frontiersman. It is totally about how to adventure and GM outside of the Frontier/known space. Here are some things that you need to look at: What star systems are out there? Are players going to be running into the Sathar? Are there going to be more space faring races? What new worlds are there going to be for you to explore? And so on (add more that you would like to see) Confucious Says: Man with one chopstick go hungry. Man who eat many prunes get good run for money. Man who live in glass house should change clothes in basement. |
w00t (not verified) November 5, 2007 - 1:46pm | What star systems are out there? we need a map, something simple to start. maybe work off SS's stuff or build or own? ask in Game Talk if anyone has resources / maps Are players going to be running into the Sathar? where have the Sathar attacked from in the past. i.e. they can't surround the Frontier totally. or can they? who else Beyond is trying to kill off the worms? Are there going to be more space faring races? I would say waaaay out there. if there were races close to the Frontier that had space flight we would know. :-) |
w00t (not verified) November 5, 2007 - 7:43pm | what about exploratory missions - sponsored by the UPF that "lend" a ship to crew's that want to search for (but no engage) Sathar presence or left over bases? |
Gergmaster November 6, 2007 - 11:41am | Yeah that works. That stays with the original material (how TSR expanded the known space) and it also gives some opportunities for getting some adventures out there for people. How detailed do you want to be providing adventures for others? 1. Articles with high-level outlines of planned encounters ( I do this for sfman) 2. Full module (takes at least two months of solid work, art and cruft) |
Gergmaster November 6, 2007 - 3:04pm | I say we leave the modules to Fist Full of Credits or Adventures for Imagination. Lets just work on producing some material for people to add to their gaming. Then maybe we'll work on a module. Confucious Says: Man with one chopstick go hungry. Man who eat many prunes get good run for money. Man who live in glass house should change clothes in basement. |
w00t (not verified) November 6, 2007 - 8:44pm | roger that. I think the next step is too meet up in chat. Let me know when your ready and we can whip up some ideas and an outline. Gergmaster November 7, 2007 - 10:55am | Alright. This Friday I'll actually be able to do some work on this if your are up to it. Confucious Says: Man with one chopstick go hungry. Man who eat many prunes get good run for money. Man who live in glass house should change clothes in basement. |
Mycanid May 19, 2008 - 12:17am | Could someone summarize for me what work has been "decided upon" thus far? :) @}-,-`- "It is a joyful thing indeed to hold intimate converse with a man after one’s own heart, chatting without reserve about things of interest or the fleeting topics of the world; but such, alas, are few and far between." – Yoshida Kenko (1283-1350), [i]Tsurezure-Gusa (1340) |
