Fu-Man_Chu October 21, 2007 - 1:58pm | Just got back from a business trip and was watching Space: Above and Beyond while travelling - man, what a great show! I'm mining it for ideas for SF... the feel of the technology is very similar and I LOVE the spacefighter dogfighting... they tend to liken it to WW1 dogfighting, which is really cool... -Andrew |
Corjay (not verified) October 21, 2007 - 3:32pm | Yes, that was an awesome show that I never got to watch (I've seen lots of clips). It was the first serious sci-fi drama of its kind. I wish I could watch the series. S:AB, Firefly, and Battlestar Galactica II are going to go down in history as the 3 all time best sci-fi series' ever. |
Fu-Man_Chu October 21, 2007 - 5:16pm | Well, I only got to see 2 episodes when it aired in the 90's, but now its on DVD for a pretty good price! -Andrew |
Full Bleed November 2, 2007 - 1:33am | S:AB was very cool. I was quite dissapointed when it was cancelled. It was set up to fail. I didn't catch Firefly until after it had been cancelled, and that show really knocked my socks off. I hope they find a way to do another movie or two. The new BSG series also seems pretty cool, though I've only seen the two hour pilot, which was much more brutal than I thought it would be. I've been trying to hold off watching the rest until I can schedule some time with the GF as I know she'll like it too. |

They have webisodes called BSG: Razor, that depict the early years of Admiral Adama as a Captain (the actor looks exactly like he could be a young Edward James Olmos and has features like Jaime Bamber {Apollo}; good casting). This week is an awsome freefall duel between Adama and an old school cylon. Watch it from the first webisode at scifi.com. If you go to the BSG main page (Click "Video"), you can watch episodes and webisodes. if you look through the menu on the right of that last page, you can find and watch the Season 2 finale, part 2 (I recommend watching the finale before watching the Resistance episodes, so that you know what happened leading up to it), the Resistance webisodes, where they were stuck on a planet under the rule of the cylons after the finale during the show's off season last year, and seven full episodes from season 3.5 of the regular series. Here's the series episode order (they screwed it up on the feeds): 311, 312, and then 316-320. |
CleanCutRogue November 2, 2007 - 10:54pm | All great series. Some of my inspiration goes back a lot further.... anyone remember Galaxy Rangers? :) 3. We wear sungoggles during the day. Not because the sun affects our
vision, but when you're cool like us the sun shines all the time. |
Corjay (not verified) November 3, 2007 - 6:33am | Isn't that the cartoon with the guitar cowboy and his hawk? Made by the makers of Thundercats? All great series. Some of my inspiration goes back a lot further.... anyone remember Galaxy Rangers? :) |

Corjay (not verified) November 3, 2007 - 8:43am | ROFL. I couldn't make it past the villain with the heavy fake southern accent. I want to live to see tomorrow. So, what were we talking about again?

Full Bleed November 4, 2007 - 10:40pm | Well you have a chance to watch some episodes on the computer. I've got the first 3 seasons on disc, so it's just a matter of sitting down and watching straight through. So, I should basically watch through Season 2 before watching the webisodes? |

Though you could probably watch the Razor webisodes without watching any of the series. Those are really just a preview of a movie they'll be airing at the end of this month. |
