jedion357 November 13, 2017 - 8:15am | need a closer read get back to you by Wed. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
jedion357 November 13, 2017 - 3:11pm | Straight forward. I was going to say cudos to you for the thoroughness of supplying stats for dark shadow but then the end of the adventure involved KHs encounter. I think anything non standard like a dual barreled auto-pistol should be referenced as to where it's details can be located. Or if you just made it up the we should include an appendix for NEw Equipment. I like the laying of groundwork for PCs knowing who Nightshade and her Captain are. One could almost run a Dark Shadow 2.0 Adventure and continue the espioage campaign. The espionage PSA that I submitted to SFman might be of use as well What deck plan for the ship in cassidine? Or did I miss that? I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Shadow Shack November 13, 2017 - 6:57pm | Yeah the stats really aren't needed unless the characters are actively looking for a fight, but I threw in the final pirate encounter just to ensure the KH rules could be invoked. ;) The dbl bbl auto-pistol really isn't complicated enough to break down in specs, it's simply a second barrel/chamber/magazine attached side by side to the common grip & trigger assembly. I do have house rules that cover such multi-barrel weaponry (that allow up to four barrels/chambers/magazines) and simply put each additional barrel assembly adds another 50% of mass & price along with the extra cost of magazine(s) and damge doubles/triples/quadruples accordingly with each additional set of parallel shots that occur. I need to amend the scenario to mention the two freighter deck plans in the WoWL inner cover. Sinc ethe crew won't go into the Nightshade that one is irrelevant, but the larger deck plan would represent the Streel Corporation Ship Provisioner. |
jedion357 November 13, 2017 - 7:31pm | Or a Gullwind class vessel which comes with a cargo arm standard. You should write up your house rules on multibarrel weapons and submit. Adding mass should impact IM and at a certain point shouldn't there be a negative modifier for firing an unweildly weapon just to offset the extra damage? Shadow Shack November 14, 2017 - 4:43am | I just did some clean-up work. I tweaked the intro portion a bit more and added some history to the Dark Shadow, namely defining the Streel "Big Bang" drives along with mentioning recharging equipment for powerpacks & batteries. The small & large freighter deck plans mention was added to the respective ship descriptions, and the Provisioner crew was expanded with some personal equipment that has been stowed in the cabins along with crew placement at the beginning along with the addition of a combat robot dubbed "Elsie Dee", which can be a game changer depending on who acquires the astrogator's portable computer first. I fleshed out the Provisioner encounter some more as well. P.S. --- the multi-barrel weaponry house rule is in the Ultimate Equipment Guide, I also uplaoded it to my protion of the House Rules Wiki here at SF.us. Honestly I do not see the need for an IM hit with heavier/bulkier items, encumbrance rules already cover that. Besides, the canon auto-pistol masses twice as much as a laser or gyrojet pistol and there are no pemalties existing for that one. P.S.S. --- the yaz gunner "Gleep Wurp" name was lifted from one of the pre-gen characters from the G-series D&D module (Against the Giants), Gleep Wurp the Eyebiter was a name level mage slated for tournament use in those adventures. |

jedion357 November 24, 2017 - 8:42am | Philip submitted his to the magazine first so his Clarion Station submission will be WoWL challenge 2.02 and we'll use The Dark Shadow's Revenge as 2.03 in the WoWL challenge. Pressure is off of me to finish up my submission for now and focus on other things for the magazine so a big thankyou to both you and rattraveller for great work and timely response to the challenge.
