October 24, 2017 - 8:22am | Paired with some SF tech like level 3 robots maybe it would be an instant communication net work for a new colony where some settlements or individual setlers are far flung. Robot would monitor position and use its proppellers to maintain position. New one rotates in and one comes down for maintenance. Of course it would be a target for attack by who ever meant to do bad things Might be preferable on a colony where say mobile drill rigs set up for a month or two and then move on. this situation would be fluid and erecting permanent com towers would be contra-indicated.
