steelerfan2017 August 22, 2017 - 12:48pm | Hi all, A while ago I ran across the remastered SF rulebooks PDFs and was quite impressed. I am currently interested in another out-of-print game (classic d&d) and was wondering about remastering some of the old rulebooks (in this case the Rules Cyclopedia, my copy is dying.) So - is there a guide out there or directions on how to do something like this? I tried copy & pasting the PDF into libreoffice and its been a struggle - bad formatting and the text is often wrong etc. Any help appreciated. |
TerlObar August 22, 2017 - 3:50pm | Unfortunately, not only is there no guide, the original Word documents of the remastered rules documents were lost in a computer crash and all that is left is the PDF files. However, I do know that Bill did it all in Microsoft Word with basic layout and art. Ad Astra Per Ardua! Shadow Shack August 22, 2017 - 7:01pm | There is a pdf copy of the RC available at dmsguild.com: http://www.dmsguild.com/product/17171/DD-Rules-Cyclopedia-Basic?it=1 Other hard to find D&D goods such as B10 can be had there in pdf format as well. |
steelerfan2017 August 24, 2017 - 7:45am | I have the PDF from drivethrurpg - it is OK to read as a PDF but when I print it comes out "fuzzy" and difficult to read - even at 1200dpi. I should have mentioned this at the beginning. So what I am looking to do is create a new DOC from the PDF. I tried various conversions and they all end up being a mess. I tried copy & pasting but ended up with formatting issues, text errors etc. So - any ideas on how to do this? My assumption was that whoever did the remaster of the SF rules had the PDF and created a new DOC from it. |
