jedion357 June 27, 2017 - 12:26pm | Refer to: UPF Frigate. Nicely done! This dralasite give 3 thumbs up! I like the CC and FE versions- nicely done there as well. I am reminded of the discussion thread for how much crew for a frigate, I should look that up. Bet you know what I'll say next: this should be in the magazine. The write up is good and with a write up on the crew break down this material would be tailor made for aiding referee's in bringing a Big ship campaign to the table. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
jedion357 June 27, 2017 - 12:32pm | The quote below is from this thread: http://www.starfrontiers.us/node/3468 Here's what I might lay out for an estimated 30 man crew roster: Officers Captain and XO (high ranking/higher ship skills, either may fill in for pilot/astrogator/engineering) 2 pilots 2 astrogators 2 engineers 3-4 gunners (one for each system, the fourth being an optional cannon assist working with the pilot) Administration Officer (aka Bosun) 10-13 officers Enlisted positions 6-12 marines (lead by gunnery officers), some of which may also fill in for some of the following: Chief medical officer plus possible assistant (with one or the other also specializing in Psyche) 5-6 technicians (one or two may operate the communications and detection systems if desired) 2 Computer Operators Chief Roboticist Steward Cook Chief Security Officer Optional Environmental Officer (replaces one tech) 14-20 enlisted Considering two 10 hour shifts, that works out well...and during emergencies all crew can be mustered for any job at hand (combat, post combat repairs, boarding, etc). Note: the Bosun is usually the highest enlisted NCO I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Shadow Shack July 4, 2017 - 3:59pm | I like the CC and FE versions- nicely done there as well. Thanks, I like having variants and a simple change to the weaponry makes for a nice role change. |
