 December 28, 2016 - 11:59am | Surprising and shocking. Gone too soon. Makes you wonder what they'll do for the third movie in the new trillogy. I liked Princess Leiah as she was not just a sex object in Star Wars. A fully realized character capable of action and still sexy despite being as covered up as she was. (of course they made up for that in the 3rd movie in the scenes with Jabba). I remember back in the 70's at Notre Dame elementary school trading Star Wars cards with the other kids. Princess Leiah cards were hot properties. No doubt the success of Star Wars made Charlie's Angels trading cards possible. I remember those being traded as well although I think I focused on Star Wars.  Did not know how extensive her writing credits were till now. My favorite Leiah/ Fisher moment is the episode from Big Bang Theory where Sheldon meets James Earl Jones and gets dragged along on hi-jinks instigated by Jones. The final one being ring the door bell and run played on Carrie Fisher. She runs out out of the house and yells, "Its not funny, James!" and he responds from off screen, "Then why am I laughing?"  And I loved the scene between her and Han in the new movie where she says, "Same jacket?' and he responds, "No, new jacket." It totally told you everything about their past relationship since Return of the Jedi.  And now she's with the Force apparitions. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
