Anonymous September 11, 2007 - 5:12am | This new look does make me want to post more. It's much more inviting. Betweeen the chat indicators, the Buddy List, and this new forum look, the feature brackets ( < < > > ) for the profile and really all the great features, this site has gotten that warm welcoming community feel. |
CleanCutRogue September 11, 2007 - 5:53am | YAY a community feel! That's EXACTLY what this is supposed to feel like... we're definately doing something right! 3. We wear sungoggles during the day. Not because the sun affects our

Corjay (not verified) September 11, 2007 - 6:49am | I think the Rounded edges keep this site from feeling too serious, which is exactly what's needed to keep people from feeling edgy or getting into lively conversations about the atomic weight of a Yazirian's fecal matter every five minutes. |
CleanCutRogue September 12, 2007 - 4:09am | atomic weight of.... oh boy. Seriously though, you're right about the curvy corners. They help keep the site from being too industrial. It's my hope people find the look and feel of the comments/forums inviting and friendly (not corporate and not overly serious). There is some excellent forum-based software out there (phBB, vBulliten, etc.) that I could have used for this site... but this site wasn't really designed to be purely a forum site. I wanted the forum comments to meld seamlessly with the rest of the site content... and to allow all forms of commenting (such as on project front pages... downloadables... polls... etc.) This way the site feels like a cohesive whole rather than a collection of parts. My first idea was simple a wiki and phBB. That would NOT have been close to what we've built!! 3. We wear sungoggles during the day. Not because the sun affects our
