jedion357 August 15, 2015 - 1:47pm | Ironically I just came across this again and its pretty cool, an O'neil Cylinder: http://www.nss.org/settlement/space/rama.htm What if the Star ship Warden (Metamorphisis Alpha) was actually an O'Niel Cylinder? I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
iggy August 15, 2015 - 8:10pm | What is the smallest self sustainable O'neil Cylinder? That would meld well with the Starship Warden. -iggy |
KRingway August 16, 2015 - 1:55am | It seems that Gelatinous Cubes can get large enough to absorb planets... |
iggy August 16, 2015 - 7:29am | My guess is the magic user screwed up casting a shrink spell on the gelatinous cube and the entire world had a bad day of saving throws. Possibly the DM really hated the campaign setting. -iggy |
Malcadon August 17, 2015 - 3:06am | http://www.nss.org/settlement/space/rama.htm What if the Star ship Warden (Metamorphisis Alpha) was actually an O'Niel Cylinder? I read that book; it was called Orphans of the Sky by Robert A. Heinlein. If you want to go beyond an O'Niel colony that is a mega-dungeon-maximums world, you should checkout the Japanese manga Blame!. (There is a fan-made RPG with more setting info.) |
