jedion357 May 8, 2015 - 5:48pm | http://www.deviantart.com/art/Sci-Fi-Harbour-529890762 I like this pic for Port Loren down by the water front. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Tchklinxa May 8, 2015 - 5:59pm | Oh that's cool "Never fire a laser at a mirror." |
iggy May 9, 2015 - 10:05pm | Inspiration for my 3D Port Loren project. -iggy |
KRingway May 10, 2015 - 9:14am | Seems a bit too much like our world and time, give or take. |
jedion357 May 10, 2015 - 4:16pm | Seems a bit too much like our world and time, give or take. And Vietnam era grenade rifles are not too much like our world? I get your point though but for me the attraction of Star Frontiers was that it was only a little bit beyond our present tech (clunky computers not withstanding). I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
KRingway May 11, 2015 - 7:18am | I tend to take my cues from Jim Holloway, Larry Elmore, Dave Trampier and a few others as far as the look and feel of Star Frontiers is concerned. I tend not to see it as being too close to the look of our world. But that's just me I also work with CGI and tend not to see past that technically unless it's very well done. |
ChrisDonovan November 16, 2015 - 12:25am | PGC Headquarters Atrium: http://www.artstation.com/artwork/star-citizen-terra-s-atrium Pinterest has a TON of stuff good for SF visuals. |
Tchklinxa November 21, 2015 - 10:19am | Very cool indeed "Never fire a laser at a mirror." |
ChrisDonovan November 21, 2015 - 4:30pm | Artstation is your friend. So is Pinterest. I stole a TON of stuff from Star Citizen. :) I'm trying to establish a "look" for every type of environment I can think of. That is what I chose for PGC...basically the "Federation clean" style. I also have looks for military type places, industrial places, etc. |
jedion357 November 22, 2015 - 4:17pm | I like that designation "Federation clean" it even invokes some Asimov material from the Foundation series. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
ChrisDonovan November 22, 2015 - 10:42pm | It has the benefit of being clearly evocative, and one that most people would "get" right away. Though I suppose I could have also said "Star Trek Clean" or even specified an era, since the visual look of Trek has changed so much over the years. |
