I do think the Puffer fish is cool: Body armor has been made out of all sorts of stuff through the ages, (I never bought into the CA Indians where pacifists as presented in a book because of the fact they made body armor, people who are peaceful don't make body armor... but then the Maya where being presented as pacifists and all those pictures of human sacrifice described as metaphor...  ) I really like the retro end of civilization license plate armor.
