jedion357 March 26, 2015 - 5:11am | Watching a cable program on Nazi hunters makes me think that the history of attempts to bring Nazi war criminals to justice might be a good source to mine for scenarios tracking sathar agents. Especially where a local government might protect a suppected agent like Bolivia did Barbi. For example the beings that fought in SW1 or SW2 would or could have had close contact with sarthar and thus fallen prey to their hypnotism and yet now they are veterans and heroes with contacts among fallow vets who would have their back. They may also have prominent positions in their society complicating a star law agents ability to bring them to justice. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
rattraveller March 28, 2015 - 5:22pm | Since every planet is pretty much independent the extradition treaties could be very interesting. Alot of being hired by one government to get a criminal from another planet where that being is protected by that government. Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go? |
Tchklinxa March 29, 2015 - 6:54am | Yes it would be a bit more dicey, Star Law might even get into (shoot outs) with the local law enforcement... I know Star Law has a very Marshal feel to it, and we tend to think of the Fed. Marshals in the USA as being oldest Fed Law Enforcement but the Postal "Surveyors" are older I wonder what would be the future version of Postal Inspectors. I imagine in SF the postal stuff is handled by each government, but maybe some Space Stations would have UPF Postal... or would it all be private business or a mix. And would there be any Surveyors/Special Agents/Inspectors? "Never fire a laser at a mirror." |
rattraveller March 29, 2015 - 5:20pm | Postal would be a mix of government and private like the current system (UPS vs FedEx). But the between planet mail service would use independent contractors whose honesty and discretion could be counted on. Enter the players. Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go? |
Abub April 24, 2015 - 8:58am | well, subspace tech in SF basically means you shoot your message at the target. Who picks it up and transfers it to the receipient might just depend on who is there with the tech to do it.... as in in Space around the planet. So if the planet has a satelite that could be private/local government. I never convsidered it, cause the game i'm running is on UPFS ships, but on planet you might recieve a notifiction that a message has arived for you which you can download only after paying a fee. ----------------------------------------------- |

I believe a dralasite director from Inner Reach made a holo vid called "The Maruchan Ramen Candidate". I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Tchklinxa May 3, 2015 - 4:46pm | And was he not the same director now working on "Men Who Stare At Spoats" a revealing movie about a secret UPF program trying to develop mental & hypnosis abilities in the UPF races. "Never fire a laser at a mirror." |
