Let's See Those Christmas Trees!

I scored a vintage electric train set at a yard sale for $5 (and subsequently spent $40 on plywood and nails) and made a new Christmas tree base. I had an electrical quirk after setting everything up, fortunately we still have a Radio Shack nearby to match up vintage electronic bits. Now I'm contending with a cat that likes to chase the caboose...

Let's see those trees!

Here's mine.  And my 3 year old who is obsessed with trains.  His second favorite thing after trains, however, is my little half assault scout model that I 3D printed and painted as a test that I let him play with.  He plays with it constantly.  It's in his left hand on the edge of the picture

There are a lot of things on the tree, Super Heros, Jerry Garcia, Star Trek, Stargate, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Raiders, Godzillas, Navy Ships, and lots of ornaments from all over... honestly this is 1/2 of 1 box, we went light this year on decorating, 'cause hubby is so ill... we did not put a tree toper on because those are in a different box. Sorry the lights are so bright.

Christmas Pickle is on there too! It is a party game, the child that finds the pickle gets a special surprise, we have two a large one for younger children & a small one for teens.

Merry Christmas! Smile

Hurrah for trains under the tree! My family doesn't do the tree until closer to Christmas, but I will try to remember to post it here.

Alright...hard to see, but I have the Thomas the Train set going around the bottom of the tree.  The 2nd pic is our Christmas Village on the mantle...complete with a Robotech Veritech in Guardian mode with a My Little Pony sitting on it's back.  It's gettin' weird around here...

OK, We finished decorating the tree tonight.  We've had it all week with minimal ornaments on it until now.

That sounds like my house Foot in mouth.  It took us a week to get all the ornaments on as well.

Great video Iggy.

Here's a neat one coreographed to one of my favorite rendered Christmas tunes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPyu792UDVs

Thanks.

The lights video is great too.  I'm duly impressed with the choreography and technical skill of that homeowner.

I didn't put up the tree in my house this year as the family is gathering at Dad's house for Christmas since this is his first without my mother. I did drive up and set up the tree there for him and put on all the ornaments that she made over the years. No pics to share as its in another state but damn that woman collected a boat load of Christmas decorations over the years. What a project to sort through them. At least they're organized into plastic bins with labels.

EDIT: Love the TSO, thanks for the video link that was cool.

Condolences Jedi.

We just put up one tree, and are still working on our second tree.  Don't know I'll get pics up by Christmas.  (The second tree is the one with all our personalized, and my nerdy, ornaments... damn light issues)

Thanks for mentioning light issues- I have to dig my pre-lighted tree out of the basement and bring it for my brother- almost completely forgot about that. BTW a pre lit tree with LED lights is the bomb. Assembles in minutes and with no ornaments it looks like you were busy with it for hours. Best thing I ever did was to pick one up during the Jan. clearance sale at Walmart.

The only prelit tree we bought was your old style lights... it lasted one year and even in that year had to be returned once to the store for a segment of the tree that was not lighting.

Yeah, I tossed everything with the old style lights and I only use LED lights now. LOVE LED lights!

Thanks!

Someone really needs to explain it to me how stainless steel can be so valuable in jewelry form. Two to four times what the same thing in silver fetches. Yet a single silver spoon costs more than stainelss steel flatware for eight including salad & dessert forks, table & soup spoons, and couture butter knives.

Supply and Demand. If people want it they'll demand higher prices.
