 October 21, 2013 - 7:51pm | Apprently they slipped in a new technology that I missed the announcement on, the Collection Maximizers. It's on page eight of the build menu. Apprarently, each level gives you a bonus on the amount of energy collected. I had noticed a few weeks ago that the total power level of a lot of people was shooting up. My overall position on the board has dropped from about position 40 to down at position 81 even though I was slowly gaining ground and moving up before then and I haven't stopped my buildup. I though they were collecting lots of those new kappa stars but now I realize they've been developing this technology. So if you want more energy, start developing your Collection Maximizers. The bonus you get with each level are as follows (as far as I've developed it as of this writing: Level 1 - 4% Level 2 - 8% Level 3 - 12% At the moment it looks like 4% per level. It maximizes at level 16 according to the help entry on them. If that trend holds, you can get up to a 64% energy bonus. This percentage is mulitplied by the production of your stations (the first number on the base production line for energy in the stats section). Based on that, if I can get 64%, I should be able to push my position up to about 30th on the leader board. Ad Astra Per Ardua! October 21, 2013 - 10:33pm | My typical RS is 19/8/12/12 and I have some at 20. And I have quite a few that have their attack values in the 13-17 range as well. I've pushed the production up on most of them over everything else. Expect for my three newest ones (which have production levels of 16, 15, & 12) all my RS stations (the other 33) are at 18, 19, or 20. Although I kind of pulled back from that when we started the "king of the hill" fights as I didn't want to climb too much higher than position 50 in the leader board at the time. I carry 200 colossus, 300 swingers premanently. I constantly build 600-840 colosus for the "king of the hill" battle, and the rest are in turrets to boost my PL. I'm now pushing my Collection Maximizers up as high as I can get them (level 5 for tonight and I'll push it higher tomorrow) and will be building turrets to boost my PL and put major defenses on all my stars. I'm about ready to make my push and see just how high I can get on the leader board. I figure if I push all my star RS to level 20 (will take about a month/month and a half) plust the new bonus from the collection mazimizers, I can get to a PL of at least 110k which puts me up at about 23rd place. However, if I can get more than 64% bonus from the collection maximizers then I can go even higher. I don't think I can hit the top spot without getting some of the bigger stars but I think I can break into the the top 20 if not the top 15 or 10. Ad Astra Per Ardua!  October 22, 2013 - 3:29am | I saw the collection maximizer when it came out and drove mine to level 14 then ignored it to get back to developing fighter tech and SY strength but I may just finish pushing it to level 16. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
