jedion357 June 17, 2013 - 4:40pm | I'll start: Stars Without Number Free edition: http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/86467/Stars-Without-Number%3A-Free-Edition SwoN is a well laid out Sci fi rule set that is retro clone-ish of basic/expert D&D I'm not normally a fan of D20 rule sets but this one won me over. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Malcadon June 17, 2013 - 9:48pm | I got really confused by the front page. At first I though it was a game conversion hub. After all, there are some ten or so projects dedicated to some sort of rule conversion: Alternity; D20; D6; FrontierSpace; Interlock; Starships & Spacemen; Savage Worlds; Star Drive; Universal Roleplaying System; and Universal Roleplaying system with D20. (I skimmed through some 12+ pages of projects to find all that! This site really needs to organize the project pages.) But this seems to be about converting stuff into d20-based systems - ideally for Stars Without Number, but not exclusively so. |
jedion357 June 18, 2013 - 2:41am | I'll work on the front page, I suppose I should phase it as converting Star Frontiers to other systems. This is just a place to discuss conversions and handling rules. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
jedion357 June 19, 2013 - 10:58am | just found this GURPs 4e http://www.gamesdiner.com/star_frontiers_to_gurps EDIT: this is a home brew adaption of the AD setting to GURPS 4e http://codex.orichalcum.net/index.php?title=Star_Frontiers_Alpha_Scion I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Malcadon August 6, 2013 - 6:32pm | Here is an neat little system for sci-fi and post-apoc gaming. They are largely the same system, but both are tied to different settings. They are based on old-school D&D, but with a noticeable twist off the bat, with enough new ideas to pick apart for whatever system you are working. The art is also old-school - namely, old public domain art from 1920s and '30s pulp rags - which gives them a nice retro sci-fi feel. Space Ryft - A generic space opera. Broken Urthe - A Gamma World-inspired setting. Oh yeah, the site is also host to a lot of highly useful online random generators for all sorts matters -- maps/scenarios, items, monster encounters, names, etc. |
