 April 15, 2013 - 4:48pm | An imprecatory prayer is one where the supplicant is crying out to God to perform justice against one that has harmed you in some manner. One of the things that surprises some people about the Bible is the presence of imprecatory prayers, particularly in the Psalms. These are usually about the pslamist crying out his pain to God over injustice done to himself or to his people. A particular such prayer is the psalm that decries the Babylonians who sacked Jerusalem and grabbed the infants from their mothers and swung them by their legs to bash their heads against rocks- certainly an event that is worthy of an imprecatory prayer. Without opening the debate over the validity of such prayer it just occured to me that this style of prayer would/could be something that a yazirian might pray. Taking in their aggressive and violent natures, practice of life enemies, honor codes and weapons this seems like a good fit. Not that it would exclude other types of prayer just that this might be a common example of a popular prayer style for them. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

The enemies of my clan have killed our lask Burned our trees Slaughtered our young Defaced the memory of our clan heroes. They laugh and dance eating the sweet meats stolen from us. They say our clan is broken and forsaken of Yazira They say our clan is become as dust in the wind. Our hearts wail and our teeth nash in anger Our blood burns with the fire of blood lust for our blood enemies. We are warriors of the way of honor and have ever remembered you way. Harken to us now Yazira, let you spirit fill us and move us to avenge the wrong done to us any our clan. To answer blood for blood, fire for fire, and vengence for injustice. Till the cries of our dead are answered in the cries of our dying enemies. We are warriors in the ways of Yazira and we will not rest till vengences is done Hear us Yazira, fill us and move in us as we name our blood enemy.
