Shadow Shack October 11, 2012 - 9:46pm | Cool, assuming you run decks-parallel to main axis rather than KH format with decks perpendicular. |
w00t (not verified) October 12, 2012 - 1:36pm | They might work if you ignore the engines. :-) |
Shadow Shack October 12, 2012 - 2:05pm | You mean drive size versus ship size? Hey, it's not as bad as the official blueprints of the Millenium Falcon --- a 27m long vessel with drives ocupying little more than the width of the aft bulkhead. I think Obi-Wan was using the Force to make it go...alas there were no Jedi aboard for the second two flicks so it still defies explanation. |
Sargonarhes October 12, 2012 - 9:23pm | It's Star Wars Shadow Shack. Look at the T.I.E. fighters, they've got some pretty small engines as well. In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same. |
Shadow Shack October 13, 2012 - 12:30am | The TIEs left me wanting as well, at least on the Falcon you could see the one dimensional "illuminated wall" that's supposed to be the drives, but the Twin Ion Engines on a TIE fighter...only in artistic renderings have I ever seen where they might be. Even my plastic models lack any hint of propulsion LOL |
rattraveller October 13, 2012 - 3:10am | Come on guys its obvious the TIE fighter has super efficient solar panel collectors which then send energy into the flux capacitor which then converts it to anti-magnetrons which are sent back to the solar panels that use a push/counter-push pulley system to move the ship. Of course this doesn't work in atmosphere which is why they were only space based. A super special red-ray edition with revamped 5th dimension effects due out next quadrieal will show the ground based TIE fighter/shuttle/tanker/ice cream ship with boosters that could leave planet orbits. Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go? |
