Mostly it's a scary-thriller, has a bit of neat tech, I won't post more until you see it as it has some good ideas for SF.

You should like it. It has the whole "what the heck is going on here" thing. You may need to watch it twice.
Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go?

So funny you said that. I just watched if for the first time. Weird ending, but GREAT Sci Fi movie.

Pandorum. I loved it. Makes me think of Matamorphosis Alpha.

I didn't hate prometheus, but thought it was average at best.

It was a far cry better than Aliens 3 & 4 though.

So far, just like the RoboCop franchise, my DVD collection of Aliens ends with the second flick.
I'm not overly fond of Zeb's Guide...nor do I have any qualms stating why. Tongue out

Aliens 3 & 4 do not exist. Either do Matrix 2 or 3.

EDIT  @ SS - "far cry better" - getting your hand slammed in a car door is a far cry better than Aliens 3 & 4! Or a case of dysentary on your honeymoon.

My Mom wiped her self with poison ivy after doing what bears do in the wood on her honeymoon.
Personally, I think I'd prefer to watch aliens 3&4 over that but then I know what to look for with poison ivy so i guess I can avoid both.

EDIT: I think Highlander pretty much ends with #1 for me, everything else is a whole lot of nonsense and BS.

Prometheus was building to be a good movie, then the end came???
No real middle  to the whole picture/story.

What happened to the evil self centered daughter, plotting and then
twisting the old guy to get what she wanted.
No back story no real drama there other than; Dad, you need to die so I can get
my inheritance.

Dave the android, he was siding to be a little on the "Self Serving" side of the game
and then he has his head torn off, game over on any real story line for him.
It seemed they try do do this in every aliens movie.
Tear the android apart after letting him get a taste of what a soul feels like and try
to save the day in the end.

Only later to.. yes.. have Dave try and save the day. You know there are "other ships".

It was ok but not good and never great. I would love to see the directors cut to
see what was cut out.

Cogito ergo sum; I think therefore I am.

Batty
[Blade Runner]
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.

I would also point out that not all Terminator movies are created equal either. But hey, hey, Arnold isn't doing much these days and needs to pay off his divorce lawyers so maybe we'll get another????

maybe something in the vien of AVP and it will be Terminator vs Jason (Friday the 13th) or Texas Chainsaw Terminator, Edward Terminator Hands, Terminators of the Carribean, Star Trek-The Undiscovered Terminator, Raiders of the Lost Terminator

Though something along the lines of Terminator Wastes Jar Jar Binks might be fun, forget might I'm pretty sure it would be fun.

I enjoyed all three Terminator flicks, although if I had to make the choice for less I would suffice with 1 & 2. Salvation can't hold a stick to any of them. There are scores of actors out there that could have pulled off John Connor instead of having to deal with yet another asthmatic Bale role. You just can't make a not-Arnold Terminator, photoshop Arnold doesn't count. That was a real disappointment after hearing all the rumors of an Arnold cameo in Salvation.

I'm actually looking forward to The Last Stand (Arnold's first lead role since leaving politics), the Expendables has already run its course what with part two being what we all wanted to see in part one...and I shudder to think of what a third instalment of that could be like. I can just see Hollywood finding a way to botch that up more than it already is, such as casting Robert Pattinson and Justin Beiber for the lead roles.

Maybe I'll be successful at buying a copy of it now! LOL. BTW I've now seen Pandorum once and I liked it. It kept me guessing and was a nice twist on the "end of the world" genre of movie.

Well be careful, Wal-Mart had it next to PREDATOR in their Blue Ray section. Wink

Somehow I would not feel too bad if I accidently bought Predator, especially P2 with Danny Glover- which was my favorite.

Favorite line is when Danny Glover has finally killed the predator and a dozen come out of cloak and surround him and he shrugs and says, "Who's next?"

It took me a long time to acquire/watch P2.

After having seen what happened to other franchises, I was hesitant. A few years ago I found P2 in Walmart's $5 bin and figured what the heck. I was pleasantly surprised.

Terminator (original) is one you need to be careful with. It took forever for them to get it out in something resembling stereo. VHS was in mono. 12" laser disc was mono. The first DVD release was mono. Only the later re-releases are in 5.1 --- that really baffled me and kept me from buying it since it came out for private ownership.
