jedion357 September 16, 2012 - 9:24am | Mud on wall idea thread: PCs are part of a diplomatic mission to Hentz. I've debated making it from Clarion specifically or from something more general. I like the idea of it being Lord Claymore (or what ever the name should be) is sent by the crown for purpose X . PCs are members of his staff. Whoever the combat specialist are can be Royal Marines or Guard or secret service types. Everyone else is staff. Plenty of room for a spy character with a mission separate from the ambassador's. Make contact with underground dissidents, look into rumors of an arrested and disappeared citizen, etc. The ambassador's mission is X but there are other thing in play that will involve the Fo1. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
jedion357 May 27, 2016 - 10:48am | What if the Fo1 had a version of China's Forbidden City but in reverse? A city district 5 square km that is the only area none Yazirians are allowed on Hentz. The Ark of Yazira and the headquarters for Fo1 and GODco are there. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

Over time the situation changed and it became necessary to allow diplomatic missions, Star Law and etc on the planet. Thus they organized the Open City District in the heart of the capital. Ironically, OCD contains locations they originally claimed must be kept sacred. None the less OCD is where non yazirian visitors may venture on Hentz. It includes the Ark of yazira, the armored gargantuan transport module that brought the entirety of Yazira's genetic samples to the frontier. It's now a museum celebrating the Star Exodus, GODco, Fo1, and terraforming. The real Ark of Yazira is a new built genetics facility elsewhere. House of One Tree: cebtral temple of Fo1 worship A dozen clan halls for most prominent clans Spirit of Yazira bio-dome. Hazikan market Mag Lev to _________________ Island and Star port (only authorized landing sight for non Yazirians. Hope you don't mind being followed by Psy-Core Inquisitors I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
iggy May 27, 2016 - 10:09pm | I like the idea of an Open City District. Then too I like the idea that not all of the population agrees with the rule and there is an under culture of smuggling non-yazirians around in dark tinted vehicles. The government knows it happens but turns a blind eye because it keeps the wheels of business moving. Thus top level executives may have on planet meetings all in secret. Engineers may be brought down in the dead of night to work without Fo1 yazirians knowing and only the top executives knowing. Such and so forth. The official line to the general populace and the church is that they never left the OCD but actually they were taken to private meeting rooms elsewhere on the planet where Fo1 spying and bugs are better avoided. I like the idea that the conference rooms are often exact copies of the OCD rooms and the published on the table meeting is held there and then the secret meeting is held in the copied room elsewhere and then modifications to the public record can later be made when revisionist history is needed. -iggy |
rattraveller May 28, 2016 - 12:46pm | Here's a quick question, where does it say the Family of One is only made of Yazirians? While the planet was settled by Yazirians they are a religious organization not a race. Other races by this time could have become members of the Family of One. Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go? |
jedion357 May 28, 2016 - 7:10pm | It doesn't say that but it does say in a planetary footnote AD or Zebs that non Yazirians are not allowed on Hentz I'm sure some Osakar have joined Fo1. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
jedion357 June 9, 2020 - 8:20am | I'm struggling to find the cannon statement about non yazirians being barred from setting foot on Hentz. My brain tells me its gospel canon but I'm struggling to find it. Not in the AD or Zebs footnotes. not in Khs setting details about megacorps As i remember it there was something about one of the spacestations in orbit being called Hull Heal station EDIT: found it and its not cannon I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
