I've been wondering about attacking other players. I notice a lot of non-alliance players around and was wondering about hitting them but I would not like that to happen to me so I have not.

As for names I like Frontier Fleet, but Warriors of White Light has a more aggressive feel. I think the name should reflect what we want to do with the game?

Warriors of White Light would be a great. (I'm suddenly struck by the idea of what other module titles would work: Bugs In The System-LOL, Dramune Run, Dark Side of the Moon but WOWL has panache) EDIT: I'm having a bit of a crisis of faith, if you can call it that, with the game. I'm starting to feel like i did when I played Everquest, its never ending and even when you not at the computer you're thinking about and worrying about whats going on. You cant really take a break from it and with a smart phone its invading work quite a bit even to the point of having the phone in the nav mount while driving and reaching over to start a tech upgrade, while driving. Not good. The plus side is its a game activity that lets me interact with a great bunch of guys that i genuinely like. My response to EQ2 taking over my life was to toss the disk, cancel the account with Sony and never look back. Not sure if i can limit myself to just 30 minutes a day with this. Anyway i thought i should at least talk with you all before making and rash decisions.

@jedi:  I'm kind of feeling the same way.  I'm usually sitting at a computer and not driving but it is still a background distraction that always seems to be there.  I keep catching myself spending idle time looking around in the game instead of doing more productive things like working on my next book or my new starship construction rules.

I'm glad to hear this mentioned.  I feel the same way too.  I am enjoying the long build times and hate when I have a new station to upgrade.  This is also always on my mind and distracting.  My brother and I have considered calling the game over when we have max-ed out every upgrade.  I have partly be hesitant to war because I see it as a commitment to more addiction.

Dont know if I should be glad that I'm not the only one that feels that way as it then suggests that the game is a problem. I think my mind is pretty well made up at this point and that I'll be dismatling all my stations and not looking back. Though I think I will give a certain Necroe a parting hi-de-ho and recycle a few of his stations then dismatle everything so that when he tries to search for me to get even then he's left wondering where am I. I think it'll leave him a little worried and wondering when I'll turn up.

Sounds like a plan to me.  I've got a shipyard within striking distance of that omgea star now if you want me to help with the smackdown.  I'll probably stick around a bit longer but not much.

The way I see it, the problem with the game is that there is no end point or goal.  You can't "win" the game in any way but can just continue to grow quietly or get sucked into an endless series of wars.  While that appeals to some people, it's not really my thing.  I think I like Eric's idea of maxing out the tech upgrades.  Just to see how far up the leader board it takes me.

I could see that as a goal but then you's always be worried about whats happening to your properties. As for the smack down yeah, one of those shipyards is from a level 18 player so please do join in. I may send a request to join the alliance from my main login which will be best for doing a smack down

The same leech, Keith Carpenter, just hit and recycled one of my stations at 200,1208.  I think we really just went to a war footing.  Everyone check your systems.

@jedi:  How should I handle this.  Do I message his alliance leader informing them of the multiple hits against our alliance by a single player and ask them to call him off or do we just go in guns blazing?  And do we take it to him alone or anyone in his alliance.  Or maybe hit the two systems the've taken and then send a note telling them to back off?  Or a different strategy?  I'm open to suggestions.

I've already sent a number of messages to the allaince leader and to this guy but have yet to hear one answer back, i think that tells you where they are at. They figure they're powerful enough to ignore us and take what they want. I'm going to hit him simply as pay back because he pissed me off, obviously they dont care about diplomacy or playing nice.

that said diplomacy is always worth attempting if for no other reason that you can repudiate some one for not doing it.

Like I said, I'm out and i can burn my position in the game with some grand standing.

Well guys, I have had fun but I am burnt out too. No real goals in the game and it is distracting. I think going out in a blaze of glory would be a good idea.

TerObar and I gave up on the omega star.  I'm going to max out my tech and then call it.  I'll keep out of conflicts and just hunt and upgrade.  I'll soon be in the world of four hour upgrades only so I'll not be as trapped by the game.
