Ascent January 6, 2012 - 11:03pm | Well, it does have one thing going for it, it's smaller, lighter and has a reduced tail section, meaning it's going to maneuver at least as well as any MIG. Though, I'd say the rather oversized tail rudder is working against that. Apparently they haven't mastered's the U.S.'s vector or flight control techniques. Otherwise it would likely have its engines in the tail and definitely with vector flaps and flight control pinions all over the wings and a minimum tail size. The only real advantage is its reduced radar signature, which structure allows it to be a little more aerodynamic than the F-14. Though it does have a larger payload capacity. Shadow Shack January 7, 2012 - 12:20pm | I dunno, it reminds me more of an F-4 Phantom...which makes them late by 53 years and a day. |
Arclight January 7, 2012 - 9:46pm | 1 - fighter trainer - I guess used to train figher pilots, and, um, not really ment to 'fight'? Lots of nice hardware to hang from the wings - many look awful 'big' 2- reminds me of that Italian G91\93 Jet trainer\light bomber from the late 80's\90's - good for training, but for light duty, or a cut-down FA-18 3- kind of funny seeing them use the computerized flight trainer, where, the Western forces have been using it since the 80's... 4- don't get a good mojo when they do a systems test with a Winders-based OS on that laptop...
