Patrick Burke OH YAZ! ------- O' Yaz, won't you buy me a Destroyer on Hentz; My friends all own Assult Scouts, I must make amends. Worked hard all my lifetime shooting Sathar with friends; O' Yaz, won't you buy me a Destroyer on Hentz. O' Yaz, won't you buy me a Rafflur Rifle; My friends all have Lazers, I look like a fool! Killed Sathar all my lifetime with an Auto-pistol; O' Yaz won't you buy me a Rafflur Rifle. --------------------------------------------------- Soooo... bring out your songs, your Star Frontiers songs that is. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
jedion357 December 11, 2011 - 6:50am | A detachment of Royal Guard were visiting for joint training with our militia. The night before they shipped back to Clarion we threw a party for them. As the night wore on and one drinking song after another was sung a somber spirit descended on us and someone called for the Ballad of Lt. Johnson. Apparently is a classic song among the Royal Guard about a semi-mythical stand by a Royal Guard unit made during the liberation of Laco. As best I can remember (I had too much to drink that night) I've recorded the words for you: Ol’ Lt. Johnson had troubles of his own He joined the Army and was sent far from home; A loyal man was he, willing to serve country and king, He had answered the call with its Clarion ring; To Laco’s dusty ball to fight in the fray, To fight the bloody sathar, come what may. Stationed on the flank lest the sathar come around, There he fought all the worms they found. Chorus But the sathar came back the very next day, The worms came back, they did not stay away But the sathar came back; they couldn't stay away. Away, away, yea, yea, yea Ordered to hold, he called for private dralasite, To the blob he said its time for the kaboomite; So the blob of a private went to mine the approaches, Scurry he did fearing the worm’s encroaches. The worms came on and the private was pinned, Corporal Vrusk ran forward to get him But Sathar swarmed on and they could not get away. So they triggered the explosive and won the day. Chorus But the sathar came back the very next day, The worms came back, they did not stay away But the sathar came back; they couldn't stay away. Away, away, yea, yea, yea To his sergeant Yazirian the Lieutenant said, Well we’re the last but I fear we are dead; The sergeant drew his sword and said if die we must Let’s kill some worms and grind them to dust. Ol’ Lt. Johnson had troubles of his own, He fought a valiant battle far from home. Ordered to hold, come what may. He gave his life on that fateful day. Chorus But the sathar came back the very next day, The worms came back, they did not stay away But the sathar came back; they couldn't stay away. Away, away, yea, yea, yea I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
w00t (not verified) December 11, 2011 - 10:18am | This popular song is sung by un-popular buccaneers, the Ifshnits of Rimwyrm! Yo Oh Heave Ho There are ifshnits whos hearts are as black as space Yo Oh Heave Ho And they set their ship 'cross the black and blue A blood-thirsty captian and a cut-throat crew It's a dark a tale as was every told Of the lust for treasure and the love of gold Shiver my timbers, shiver my sides Yo Oh Heave Ho There are hungers as strong as the solarwind tide Yo Oh Heave Ho When the engines primed and the grav-anchor weighed There's no turning back from any course that's laid And when greed and villainy sail the black You can bet your boots there'll be treachery (They'll be treachery!) Shiver my timber, shiver my soul DEAD IFSHNITS TELL NO TALES |
