Makes Pizza deliverable on a system wide scale, though the delivery fee is steep. Fresh food is deliverable to asteroid stations. Equipment comes out of equipment storage depots in like new condition.

Medical supplies, donor organs are always fresh.  Donor organs are much more available because they can be stored.

Rich people can wait out a recession.  Celebrities can go into stasis until they are popular again.  Politicians can go into stasis between failed runs for office.  Harry Potter like holofilm series will not have the kids filming their senior year in their 20's.  They would go into stasis between filming to keep the ages right.  Supper models may even switch to stasis in the place of sleep.  I wonder what that does to you when you get old?

Some crimes might be punishable by time in stasis.

I always thought fields in AD were limited to a few months before degrading

Investment opportunities: invest a small amount now and go into stasis, come out latter and live off the interest.

From AD:
"Activating the field takes five turns. Each freeze field device contains enough power to operate for 200 hours. If the power runs out, the body can not be revived. Freeze fields can be removed safely only at hospitals. A hospital charges 200 Credits to remove the field. The character then must pay normal costs to be healed."

So, I take it that the portable freeze field is limited due to power constraints, but back in the hospital with the city grid and back-up generators, the power is not likely going to run out.  The danger is that if the proper procedure is not used to get the organic out of the field it immediately dies.  Hence the danger of the power running out on the freeze field.

I can not find any limit in AD, KH, or ZG.

I guess that's a limit I impose.
I don't like the idea of portalbe fileds used as statis "outlive your grandfather to get his will" stuff.
:-)

Of course companies are free to run statis chambers.

Thats where the GM's comes in, ...you awake to find the world has changed before you, Your credits are no good here and you are sold into slavery to a slimey looking dralisite who liked you better as a popsicle but needed some one to clean his sewer and you were the cheapest thing going.

I would imagine that insurance only covers specific instances of stasis usage, none of them voluntary. So if you're sick, but you voluntarily enter a stasis field, your insurance for the illness immediately expires. But if you were legitimately assigned a stasis field by a doctor while unable to make decisions, then the insurance continues to cover you. Surely an insurance investigator would be sent around to make sure the stasis field legitimately falls within the policy's guidelines.

So how do you complain when the new president of the UPF brings about universal health care and suddenly you're nolonger covered for stasis field on your policy?
