Anonymous January 23, 2011 - 12:01pm | Could someone download these cards and tell me how you would use them in Star Frontiers and other games? These cards were made for FrontierSpace but I think their easily adapted to d20 or Star Frontiers. I'd appreciate other opinions since I want tools to be helpful for most everyone. :-)
* Star Frontiers use 50% as the average score, anything this character does has this change to succeed. For d20 use +10 |
TerlObar January 23, 2011 - 3:59pm | My first impression is that I wouldn't use them at all. There's too much there for a throwaway NPC, a single line or maybe two is sufficent. I don't ever bother to list the details of the weapons and such for my NPCs. Just what they have on them. Maybe that just because I'm familiar enough with the equipment to know its characteristics. For a more important NPC, there isn't enough information, but I don't think these were intended for major characters. I guess if you just wanted to create a bunch of them and recycle (possibly randomly by shuffling) the throwaway NPCs they might be useful. However, you could get the same effect with a couple of lines per NPC and pack more of them onto a single page. Anyway, that's not to say they are not useful. I just personally probably wouldn't use them. Ad Astra Per Ardua! w00t (not verified) January 24, 2011 - 4:55pm | Not all "Security Guard 55" will have the same gear. The cards are for use during game play when you need something off the cuff. Obviously they need to be filled out. I might make d100 Minor NPC cards some day. :-) |
SMKSensei January 25, 2011 - 6:18am | w00t, send me the template and I'll do the d100 SF for you. |
w00t (not verified) January 25, 2011 - 8:27am | SMKSensei - after play-testing the vehicle engagement rules were making some changes to the "minor NPC" rule. Send me your email via PM and I'll email the Word files (I have two, one for SF and the one posted on DwD). |
SMKSensei January 26, 2011 - 1:17pm | ..ok, so now I have the template(s) and forgot what I was thinking of doing with them. #add |
