Though this does not pertain to SF, I always like to give a heads up about new sci-fi rpg and gaming news as I run acrossed it on the web. For those WH40K fans out there, a full feature length, and sanctioned, CGI warhammer movie is now available. It is called Ultra Marines and features several reknowned british actors as the voice talent for the movie. Like all things Warhammer though, its a pricey collectors piece at about $40.00 U.S. There is a website with video clips and interviews.

Not a bad CGI effort, judging on what I've seen of the movie clips and the trailers. They have some first class voice talent working for them as well.
" 'Beware the Beast, Man, for he is the Devil's pawn. Alone among God's primates, he kills for sport, for lust, for greed. Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother's land. Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of his home and yours. Shun him; drive him back into his jungle lair, for he is the harbinger of death."

Its a tempt at $40.00 but the price is a little expensive for something I may only watch once or twice. I understand that making a movie is a huge financial endeavor and to get the wink from the 40K IP folks is no easy accomplishment. However, I would have prefered to see a non-collectors version with maybe just the movie disk with a simple jacket for around $25. With my hobby budget pretty small its a hard justification to shell out $40 clams on a movie. I can justify it for a season of a show because its anywhere from 12 to 16 hrs of fun verses two. But the quality looks top notch and its not lost on me that everything Warhammer is expensive.

Give it six months to a year. It'll be down below $25 by then, and maybe, just maybe, it'll be in the five dollar DVD bin at Wally World after that.

You've got a point there.
