Deryn_Rys November 9, 2010 - 6:09pm | I was going over the Knighthawks rules last night and two items were missing Powerplants, and Starship maintenance rules. Powerplants are assumed to come with the Starship's engines, so they do not add to the cost of the ship. A powerplant however produces a surplus of power equal to 100 seu/day/size of the ship which can be used to power any equipment not specifically part of the ship, (such as recharging parabatteries, and such). Also assume each powerplant comes with an emergency back up, allowing the ship to continue to operate if the primary powerplant is damaged for 20 hours/ship size but does not provide enough power for the ship to use its weapons or defensive shields. As for maintenance fees, assume a ship must pay a yearly fee equal to 1% of the ship's cost to cover overhauls, resupplying the ship's life support, refuling and whatever other things normally are needed to keep a ship running. The players may pay this maintenance fee at whatever rate they wish, but missing their yearly maintenance fee means that there is a 10% chance/trip that some vital ship component will suffer critical damage, and will need to be repaired. These rules will be included in a future version of the Knighthawks rules.
