Below I've listed some probing question to start conversations about Frontier Artifacts. I'd like to hear your ideas to represent another aspect of the mysterious side of the frontier.

What type of artifacts would be found in the frontier?
  • Old, Modern and Advanced Technology
  • Magic Items
  • Mentalist Items
  • Other
Who would have left them?
  • Tetrachs (#7-p35)
  • Ancients
  • Other races passing through
  • Warp'd here somehow from another part of the galaxy
For what purpose?
  • Recover them later
  • Time capsule, something to remember
  • Cause harm when found

Holy crap! Where did this discussion come from? How have I missed it for 3 weeks?

Tetrarchs
Clikks
Eorna

All awesome sources for alien artifacts.

As for Psionics, I completed a new system that I designed to be very friendly to Alpha Dawn. It even has a working premonition mechanic that I think should work well. I would like to test it first before submitting. Unfortunately, I have no one to playtest with. (I'm cursed with living in the boonies with no car.) As a side note, I also completed a mutations system and a cybernetics system that also need playtesting, though they are much more free-form rules-lite than a Psionics system requires. Should I just go ahead and submit them all to the magazine and let the community playtest them?

What type of artifacts would be found in the frontier? Weapons of mass destruction, holodisplays, small super energy generators, ships, temples (teraforming plants? Ala Barsoom), planet machines (Ala Ben Bova), portals (Ala Star Trek and Stargate), hyperfast gravity-age atmospheric transportation, abandoned city in the clouds around a planet with dense atmosphere (Ala proposed Venus settlement)
Who would have left them? Tetrarchs, Clikks, Eorna, some new ancient faction.
For what purpose? Abandoned, shipwrecked, experiment, gift, failed civilization passing on a final time capsule for future generations, lost, unearthed, planted to culture civilization.
