Ascent June 24, 2009 - 11:39am | Since we get posts on here from time to time about how the Star Wars Saga Roleplaying game is going the way of the dodo, I would like to provide a linkable thread that demonstrates that the game is very much alive. Books already in print since summer 2007: Saga Edition Core Rulebook (Now in its second printing of a Second Edition) Starships of the Galaxy (OoP and sold out in all online sources; Still available in hobby shops) Threats of the Galaxy Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) Campaign Guide The Force Unleashed Campaign Guide Scum and Villainy The Clone Wars Campaign Guide Legacy Campaign Guide Jedi Academy Training Manual Books currently in production: Rebellion Era Campaign Guide Galaxy at War Campaign Guide Scavenger's Guide to Droids Galaxy of Intrigue Books rumored or expected to be among the products planned: New Republic/New Jedi Order Campaign Guide From what I've seen, everyone seems very satisfied with the rate at which Saga books are coming out. Here's the list of SW RCR books released over a 4 year period (20): [Original] Core Rulebook Living Force Campaign Guide Secrets of Naboo Secrets of Tatooine The Dark Side Sourcebook Rebellion Era Sourcebook Alien Anthology Starships of the Galaxy New Jedi Order Sourcebook Tempest Feud RCR Power of the Jedi Sourcebook Arms and Equipment Guide Coruscant and the Core Worlds Ultimate Alien Anthology Hero's Guide Galactic Campaign Guide Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds Ultimate Adversaries I would say Saga is at about the same release schedule and there's no signs of slowing down. Shadow Shack June 24, 2009 - 2:45pm | Dark Horse Comics also has a line of SW stories they're publishing at monthly intervals, as well as a quarterly title and numerous one shot annuals each year. |
Ascent June 24, 2009 - 9:48pm | I was wondering at first "what do comics have to do with the roleplaying game?", but then I realized that I never actually put "RPG" in the title. w00t (not verified) June 25, 2009 - 11:17am | Some friends up at out local game room say that 4th Edition SW is the bomb. It "fixed" some stuff in Saga. I'd like to play but all the tables are filled. Very popular game 'round these parts. |
Ascent June 25, 2009 - 1:59pm | The Second Edition Saga book "fixed" Saga. It wasn't broken. It was just the early iteration of a new format. Every new system has bugs. "4th Edition Saga" is just a homebrew version of Star Wars using a mix of Saga and 4th Edition rules. View my profile for a list of articles I have written, am writing, will write. Ascent June 30, 2009 - 9:07am | I'd like to play but all the tables are filled. Very popular game 'round these parts. Though I don't think Saga was in need of "fixing", I do think it could benefit from some 4e mechanics, so I would like a link to the Saga 4e rules if you have one, please.
