One of the things that drew me in to Star Frontiers - and probably a lot of you as well - was Elmore's art (and some others).  It made me want to be a part of that genre, hurling frag grenades at giant slugs, saving friends from sand creatures, repairing technology while hiding from very dangerous warbots.  We're going to need artwork that looks and feels as good - and frankly I'm not sure where we can get it.  If none of us can step up and devote such talent, we may need to outsource it... which would mean spending some money probably none of us have to spend.

ok. I think I understand what you are saying and will get to cracking on it. I will not have time to do anything free-hand or old school paper and ink til probably after the first of the year. However, digitally I can start work tonight on a few things. I will work on the action seens and see what I can do about making some grey-scale stuff too, However, everything in my software begins in color so we'll have to see how that works out. Funny, it was always such a challenge to get good color stuff now its a challenge to convert to black and white. Lol. One thing you guys can do is post some ideas of the kinds of human variants and possibly maybe some characteristics. Heavy detail means more time, so start with easy stuff first, like skin changes and such. Actual mods like gills and wings and such are possible but can be very very time consuming. Thanks for the info. Those who have gotten my comic book kind of have an idea of the type of work I am doing already.

The image you are using as a placeholder cover was an entry (and, I think, the winner) of the Grand Space Opera challenge on CG Talk a few years back:

http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=147&t=178806

It was by Daryl Mandryk

He might let you use it, it doesn't hurt to aks.

I notified CCR about the artist a couple of weeks ago on the Frontierspace development site and I think he was going to contact the artist about usage. I found the piece on the same site, okay now a corus of its a small world after all is appropriate for all us digital artists here on the SF.us. hahahahhahaa.
