elpotof October 17, 2008 - 2:56pm | i need some opinions on the Vrusks. Are they really suitable to battlefields? Can Vrusks 'get their head' down when the bullets start firing? Can anyone see a role in which these beings would excel in? I'm not having a go at Vrusks, just trying to rationalise their participation in a battle. I just don't see them as frontline troops. Vehicles would have to be adapted to allow for the bigger body mass, making associated war machines less efficient, and more susceptable to being a battle casualty. |
w00t (not verified) October 17, 2008 - 3:41pm | Can't beat their RS. They are very dextrious and because of their body shape I imagine they could "hit the deck" faster that upright races. I see them as fearless and very very good squad leaders. Squads of Vrusk should get a bonus of some sort, "hive mentality"?? I agree with vehicle cockpits but I could see them using mounted weapons efficiently. |
TerlObar October 17, 2008 - 3:55pm | It's not so much their mass as size and shape that make the redesign of vehicles necessary. I've always assumed that Vrusk could lay down flat (bend forward at the 'waist') and even bend flat backwards (lay their torso back on the abdomen) so I think they could get their head down. Given their type of society, in a mixed army I'd expect Vrusk to more likely gravitate to the behind-the-lines type jobs as well, supply officers, maitenance, etc relative the the humans and yazarians. That being said, in some situations (I'm thinking forests, broken terrain and the like) they may be just as or more effective then their limited bi-pedal companions. Ad Astra Per Ardua! AZ_GAMER October 20, 2008 - 5:11am | i think that vrusks, like the arachnids of the Starship Troopers movie, would be able to move both effectively and even gracefully on the battlefield. Another good example of bug movement is the "bug" from the original Men In Black Movie. |
