elpotof October 13, 2008 - 3:41pm | Putting together vehicle meshes, and ultimately images for game. The skin is just a throw together atm, and will be revised. based on the gun traks from GZG. plenty more coming, just take a bit o' time! Note no turret at this time, will be tomorrow at the earliest. |
elpotof October 15, 2008 - 2:37pm | A little update. I've completed a missle version of the fast trak, plus some other varients - one noteable one utilising screen technology. Rules to follow. The painting was what took the time, hence the slow response. Can only get faster! |
elpotof October 15, 2008 - 11:06pm | Thanks, it took about 30 mins to make the mesh and about 2 hours mucking about with the skin. Made the mesh in Wings3D, and did the shadows, background in photoshop. If you want the meshes to play with, drop me a line and i'll forward it to you. |
elpotof October 17, 2008 - 2:48pm | one of several things im currently working on - air transport, as well as a gunship and 'cycle. will update you all once completed. 'til then... |
w00t (not verified) October 17, 2008 - 3:53pm | Are you following the AD rules for ground, hover and jetcopter vehicles or are you going to introduce repulsor lifts, anti-gravity? |
elpotof October 18, 2008 - 6:04am | I'm initially following what has been put forward in AD, but if there's anything plausible put forward, and it fits within the general storyline/ timeline, then it's worth considering. I've been thinking about the batteries used in AD and i think these are generally impractical in battle conditions - plus the science behind batteries has already been covered in a previous topic. I was thinking broadly along the lines of a gravity based power source, where gravity is converted to electric power. Maybe too fantastical and only a thought just now - need to look more into this. |
AZ_GAMER October 18, 2008 - 5:42pm | I really like that air-transport! |
w00t (not verified) October 18, 2008 - 8:41pm | I really like that air-transport! I like it as well. Somehow it reminds me of Dune. |
elpotof October 18, 2008 - 11:58pm | All these models that im building are based on GZG miniatures; there are some pictures on the site - the air transport is one of them. |
elpotof October 19, 2008 - 1:36pm | update on the air transport - not happy with the texture, but it will do for the time being - too many other models to build to get fussy at this stage. I plan to build another 2 or 3, then get cracking with the rules. The dust has settled long enough to see for any cracks. |
elpotof October 19, 2008 - 1:40pm | another quick mesh up of the gunship.More to do, so must get on... |
elpotof October 19, 2008 - 2:51pm | finito fer the night. I'm going to give this a break for a couple of days and start to put the rules and army lists together in some organised form. forgot to mention, this is based on the infantry walker, courtesy of GZG - Depending on time, I'm going to look into putting together a couple of meshes based on SF09 - those walkers and the stories gave me inspiration - hence why they're in this book. As always, lets see what happens! |

The "wing" parts of this transport could have hover fans. :-) |
AZ_GAMER October 20, 2008 - 5:15am | The air transport looks great, very very cool! |

If you need the mesh, I'll happily send it onto you, but all the info is on my personnel drive at home. If you're after the wings3d website, check this out: www.wings3d.com/ |
