The Evil DM November 9, 2007 - 3:31pm | Hey guys, I’ve been looking over all this great stuff and like everyone else I’m extremely impressed with the effort that has gone into all of this. This effort really is an inspiration, so much so that I want to participate in some way. Recently I’ve been laid up as the result of a motor vehicle accident, and I have a bit of time on my hands while I convalesce. I’ve decided to see if I can get a Star Frontiers PBEM of the ground. Nothing big – for now just one adventure. So I’m looking to see if there is any interest in joining a game? I ‘m thinking of a group of 5 players with myself as the GM. I’ve run a few PBEM games in the past, some better than others, so I do have experience doing it. I also know that these games dry up quick sometimes as interest and real life priorities take wax and wane. So to try and make this game one successful I’m going to start small and see where we go from there. Here are a few ground rules that I’m gonna set up. I’ll be running the game on Google groups. I’ll be using Star Frontiers Digitally Remastered rules (Alpha Dawn not Zeb’s). The game will take place in the official SF universe. I will post three times a week- minimum, most likely Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The tone will be that of a freelance group of adventurers with a ship (more “Firefly” than “Above and Beyond”). Team work and ability to get along is essential. “Lone wolf badasses” are cool in books and movies, but they don’t translate well to RPG adventures. Like I said earlier I’ve ran some great games and others not so great. There are many reasons why a game succeeds or tanks. The main one is commitment. I’ve been jonesing for a game for quite a while and I think this will be fun- so I’m there. If you think you can commit to playing and posting regularly, then let’s do this. If you’re interested, please send me a 3 paragraph character background to: Don’t worry about stats, we’ll do those later. I’m more interested in the character you want to play than what their strength score is. CleanCutRogue November 9, 2007 - 8:19pm | You could play on google groups... but why not here? What would you like to have on this website that google groups gives you? I'd like to facilitate your needs and see some gaming happening, either play-by-forum-post or play-by-chat or play-by-however... I just want people to play and have fun, and do so in a manner that is inspiring for others to do the same. But of course, I'm not saying everything has to be my way: what I'm saying is I want to know what your way is and see how I can help provide that here :) 3. We wear sungoggles during the day.
