![]() November 5, 2007 - 9:48am | Fixed. Concerning guidelines, they prevent people from stepping on each other's toes, thus preventing arguments and hurt feelings. Any site worth its salt has a COC and directions on how to use it's resources. ![]() You Luv me? Oh how sweet! ![]() |
November 7, 2007 - 7:18pm | Guess this site aint worth salt then haha... :P 3. We wear sungoggles during the day. Not because the sun affects our

![]() November 7, 2007 - 8:20pm | I was trying to nudge towards setting up some security. You have far more faith in the human creature than I have, and I think without security measures it'll come back to bite you. You have an awesome site. It would be a shame to watch it break down into civil war (something that has happened on thousands of sites before), that also didn't have the security measures in place. That's why COC's and moderation exist. I know I've mentioned it to you, and you said it was a good point. Just putting it out there for record. There's no COC. Little to no moderation. And no language filter (e.g., "damn, shit"). |

November 9, 2007 - 1:37pm | I do have more faith in the human creature, I suppose. To be honest, I just want everyone to have fun and be creative... and my goal is to build tools to facilitate that. If I fill the site with terms & conditions, legalese and such... I fear it will 1) distract users from the intent of things or 2) give people the wrong impression that they have to play my way. Although I ask folks to try to keep things PG-13, I still want to give freedom to use the site as you will. Does that mean it's open to someone being a jerk? Yup. Just like you can go edit wikipedia and change text or write things about your enemies... so too can someone take advantage of the forums, documents, and tools I provide them. Heck - some jerks might just make an account to fill up their Personal Files with images they post on their MySpace pages... annoying, but true. It'll happen, and I'm not going to police it heavily (though I do have a Report! link for people to tell me about an issue when they see one). Maybe I'm being naive. Maybe I have an outlook on my fellow man that is childishly underinformed. If I get burned: I'll be the first one to say "Corjay Was Right!!" Til then I have more fun stuff to build. I sincerely hope that everyone who uses this site understands the type of site I'm trying to build - and the focus of my intentions - and doesn't take advantage of me. If I offer trust to everyone... I only ask that you don't violate that trust in return. Just have fun! -Bill 3. We wear sungoggles during the day. Not because the sun affects our

![]() November 10, 2007 - 1:50am | I'm supposed to be the paranoid one, here. Ordinarily I would have said to you what Corjay said, but for some reason, it never crossed my mind. Ah well. If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe. -- Carl Sagan |
