Imagine a setting where Admiral Morgaine is a hero and viewed as the father of the UPF having birthed the Frontier's government with his own life. So revereed they renamed a planet in his honor. A legend and icon. Martyr of the Great Sathar War (no one calls is SW1 until there is a second one)

Presumed dead when his ship blew up.

Or is he? What if he made it to an escape pod and that pod was picked up by the sathar? What if he's been held by the worms all this time?

What if the PCs explored a sathar facility and found a cryo sleep chamber and openned it to find a older human male.

What if he claimed to be Morgaine?

Would not the fear be he's a sathar agent now?

What would the UPF and Star Law do if his DNA confirmed he was Morgaine?

Would it be more expedient to just summary execute him for the preservation of the legend or would they quietly send him to an asteroid prison? Or would they bring him back and tell the truth?
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

Lots of interesting possibilities! I like the political intrigue angle and the callback to the setting's history.

by Jack McDevit who writes sci-fi mysteries

Hmm, definitely an idea that should be pursued.
