 February 14, 2019 - 9:23am | Ah, here's an interesting topic. Technically, I think the Volturnus Eorna cybots are called Slave Bots or something like that. I'm thinking of updating this project as a possible magazine story: http://www.starfrontiers.us/node/9266 Essentially, the idea behind the laserblast is that Sathar are looking for a way to quickly create an army of slave bots on conquered worlds by using the laserblast. This process is reversable and doesn't require all of the surgery needed to make an Eorna slave bot. Joe Cabadas |

They are horrific for the native population to encounter especially if the subject is someone you know as a person and now they are the "living dead" I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

February 15, 2019 - 5:13am | The slave bot makes a lot of sense. Tom S ran some numbers on troops the sathar ships could carry and invading the Frontier in SW1 they dont really have a lot of ground troops. to which I naturally lean to they nuke to pacify but that can be an overly simple explanation. although we have been discussing fire and the sathar relationship to it; perhaps nuclear fire is the ultimate expression of fire and their fear/worship of it? so nukes to take out organized military, landings to control key infatructure and slave bots for the pyschological effect and to beef up their exisiting troops. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
