The Alien Noah's Ark (A.N.A.)

The CMS Osprey has been sent to the outer system to inspect a large asteroid type object that some amateur astronomers recently detected, reported and named: Ana for his mother.
The Royal Academy of Sciences has determined that it is headed in system and that it might pass very close to Clarion. Its a One in astronomically large number that it would actually hit Clarion but still someone should inspect it and enter the Royal Marines.

What the Osprey finds is indeed a large rock but one that seems to be under power and some sort of hollowed out monsterous craft that would dwarf Planaron station its also emmitting a weak radio signal.

Orders are to rendezvous with the object and investigate.

(note I'm stealling ideas from the MOdule Klikk Klakk which presented a klikk craft as a giant asteroid)

As per that module chambers on the klikk craft randomly connect to other chambers via tubes and spincters that seem to be biological. PCs get to explore the ship for period of time learning things like that its some sort of Alien Noah's Ark. that it has specimens from various diverse ecologies including sathar specimens and monsters. evidence turns up that crew members of a lost scout exploration ship have been collected as specimens as well. their uniforms & personal effects have been stored in containers. it seems the alien intelligence performed experiments on them to learn how to preserve them in its version of hibernation sleep- most of the crew died but it finally managed to preserve one of that crew who might be revived to question for information.

I'm going with a version of the klikks as vrusk like but decidedly more spider like.

When the PCs return to their ship to report they learn that the astrogators working on the object's course have no determined that its 1 in 1,000,000 chance that it could hit Clarion. The Leo and Eagle are dispatched to assist the Osprey. and determine the exact course that the object is on. during the time that the Osprey waits for the Leo and the Eagle the PCs astrogator and or NPCs back at Clarion determine that its now 1 in 100,000 chance. And the object just made a course correction. making everyone on Clarion a little nervous.

its decided that Leo will attempt to use its grapples to alter the objects course but a tractor type beam bats its away like a gnat and severely damages the ship knocking it out of action for the rest of the adventure.

PCs are ordered to find a control room and see if they can bring the object under their control or make contact with the intelligence behind the the craft (they have not met the klikks yet maybe)

They maybe forced to wake up specimens and try to gain aid from them- who wants to wake up the sathar specimen? talk about a deal with the devil.

the object begins broadcasting a stronger radio signal of a a math code and responds to math code answers from Clarion and the expert opinion is that this might be an attempt to communicate. the object dispatches a ship/drone that exceeds the speed of an assault scout and heads for Clarion. this ship continues to broadcast the math code and goes straight to Clarion lands near the largest population center (capitol). responding in math code delegation from government goes to meet the visitors but tractor type beams (alien adaption of inertia field tech grab a half dozen officials including a member of the Royal Family sent as an envoy) and blasts off to return to the object. During this time the astrogators working on its course have determined that it will pass closs to Clarion but not hit it but also that its on a direct course for the sun.

The alien craft with its abductees is too fast for anything the UPF or Royal Marines can throw at it and returns to the object. Osprey's crew (having exp exploring the inside of the object)  have a new mission: recover the abductees. and get off the object before it hits the sun.

Remember the part of the Crash on Volturnus module where the PCs open up cargo modules to see whats inside? something similar here but the effects of specimens taken are stored in klikk version of cargo modules. so PCs might find all sorts of stuff.

including an alien weapon that grafts to their arm and back of their hand fires a 5d10 blast of what ever for 1 point of their stamina. weird stuff like that.

and of course the uniforms and effects of the aforementioned crew of the lost scout ship.
