Shadow Shack May 29, 2017 - 9:15am | The Crimson Syndicate ...because the Frontier simply doesn't have enough bad guys to throw at the players. It's an idea that has been brewing far too long in the back of my mind and I am finally putting it together. |
iggy May 30, 2017 - 12:08pm | Is the syndicate station the same size as the one in the Night Hawks box set fold out map? If so it is a fairly large station even when unfinished as you have it. What are the details for the UPF to abandon such a large station so far along in its construction? -iggy |
Shadow Shack May 30, 2017 - 6:30pm | It's a size:3 station, no idea what the fold-out map rendition is supposed to represent in that regard. I merely swiped the graphic and modified it. My Time Line In my game the 2nd Sathar War (Worm War II) starts up in the midst of the Corporate Wars --- the Sathar decided it was a ripe time to attack an already weary Frontier --- and ends about a year prior to the Third Dramune War. Five years later an upstart dictator (believed to be funded by Streel and several cults/cadres) begins making appearances in the Frontier and after 11 years initiates a take over of the Frontier, and this is when the UPF abandons their early warning station construction to address this new internal threat. This is about when the already established Syndicate discovers said station and moves in. Distraction can be a wonderful thing. By the time the upstart dictator overtakes the Frontier there are no records of the station as the surviving UPF loyalists flee the known systems and the Syndicate station location remains safely anonymous from the new reigning faction, for the time being...as they make an attempt later on to infiltrate the Sathar worlds so it's feasible that this center will eventually be located in that time but that doesn't happen for another 20 years, plenty of time for the Syndicate to cause trouble. There's a lot of civil unrest in my game. ;) |
