The original Star Trek is periodically on in reruns- not a huge surprise.

I was channel surfing last night and could see in the cable guide that it was on. Curiousity compelled me to find out which. The cable guide provied an episode title and brief description and i was stunned a little.

Episode "Friday's Child" involved the crew visiting Capella IV and negotiating with a somewhat primitive though sophisticated culture to keep the klingons out and get the mineral rights for the Federation.

Capella of course jumped out at me as an intersect with the Frontier.

Secondly the natives are a honor bound, warrior society that favors a unique cultural throwing weapon- sound like anyone we know?

The Klingons in this episode have switched from outright aggression to plotting and spies to subvert societies- sound like anyone we know?

Even the end of the episode with the exposure of the spy, death of the guy aspiring to rule & willing to work with the Klingons and the raising of the baby to the "chieftanship" after being named after one of the PCs err I mean Dr. McCoy is written like something out of the Volturnus series or Starmist modules.

Friday's Child is also one of the famous incidents of McCoy saying, "Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor not a ________"

If I'm not mistaken in this episode it was escalator.

I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!
