jedion357 July 30, 2016 - 10:22am | How do you hand cuff a dralasite? My suspicion is dralasites adapted their criminal justice system to the capabilities of their shape shifting physiology. Cells might have been holes in the floor with a grate that locked down over the opening. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
JCab747 July 30, 2016 - 10:54am | Ah yes. While you probably can't permanent remove a limb from a Dralasite, it would certainly hurt them. Probably with a permanent loss of stamina. Though there is the Dralasite pirate counter with the peg leg! Joe Cabadas |
jedion357 July 30, 2016 - 11:35am | I'm sure the dralasite counter with the peg leg is more about the dralasite sense of humor than any sort of injury. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
iggy July 30, 2016 - 12:16pm | Therre has to be a minimum hole size that a dralasite can squeeze through. Tight mesh nets tighter than this minimum hole are likely pulled over the whole body with a zipper and lock closure. Their own portable jail cell. As a result the cops roll the criminals around and this is very humiliating and dregrading to a dralasite. -iggy |
JCab747 July 30, 2016 - 12:25pm | Oh, it's handcuff a Dralasite... oops... for some reason I thought it was how do you cut off a Dralasite's hand... Iggy's idea sounds interesting. A confinement net would work... Roll them around! Hee, hee... Joe Cabadas |
Shadow Shack July 30, 2016 - 5:00pm | I imagine a mesh body bag would be the trick. |
jedion357 July 30, 2016 - 6:07pm | Iggy's idea sounds like a low tech solution I just imagined some sci Fi looking manacles with a integral stasis field ala freeze field tech and knight Hawks stasis field. The stasis manacles would require a power supply, 20 SEU CLIP, or even the SEU micro disk from Zebs. It would need to operate a suitable length of time on this power supply. Stasis manacles hold limbs in place and we're specifically designed for dralasites but star law likes them for any prisoner transport of very dangerous prisoners regardless of species I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
ChrisDonovan July 30, 2016 - 7:20pm | Dralasites cannot compact their forms any tighter than 10cm (canon). Any opening smaller than that they can't get through. |
Shadow Shack July 31, 2016 - 6:44pm | The inherent problem with "cuffing" a dral --- even if you were to use cuffs that can tighten down to just under the 10cm elasticity limit so they couldn't slip out --- is they are still multi-limbed creatures. It takes ten minutes to absorb/grow a limb, so once detained they have all the time in the world to absorb the third leg and grow a third arm during transport. Even if you were to cuff every limb, you still wouldn't know exactly how many limbs they are capable of supporting; re: higher DEX allows more limbs so a 60 or 70 character sporting five limbs during arrest can still grow one or two more. Which is why the mesh body bag is still the most effective method. For the "humanitarians" (or would that be "dralisitarians"?) allow two 10cm holes at the bottom for them to slip two legs through. |

For the "humanitarians" (or would that be "dralisitarians"?) allow two 10cm holes at the bottom for them to slip two legs through. Ah, the problem there is if they can slip through a 10 cm opening, you've given them two ways out if you give'em two holes. Just put them in a net and roll'em around... They could have a holovision show... Bowling for Dralasites. Joe Cabadas |
iggy July 31, 2016 - 7:49pm | No, that's Bowling "with" Dralasites! It is a popular holovid show where dralasite celebraties get into rigid mesh spheres and are rolled down an incline by the contestants at targets marked with various prizes. However the celebraties are allowed to grow limbs out the sides and aid or misguide the roll as humor suggests. -iggy |

It is a popular holovid show where dralasite celebraties get into rigid mesh spheres and are rolled down an incline by the contestants at targets marked with various prizes. However the celebraties are allowed to grow limbs out the sides and aid or misguide the roll as humor suggests. A better suggestion! Joe Cabadas |

Ah, the problem there is if they can slip through a 10 cm opening, you've given them two ways out if you give'em two holes. Like I said, for the humanitarians. You know...liberals, they tend not to think that far ahead. |
JCab747 August 1, 2016 - 7:55am | Another thing is, if you put a Dralasite in a mesh bag, instead of a "perp walk" or "frog-marching" a criminal, you can have a "perp roll." Joe Cabadas |
iggy August 1, 2016 - 8:18pm | Hang on! It's Gonna Be A Bumpy Ride! -iggy |
Tchklinxa August 5, 2016 - 7:57pm | The mesh bag idea is good, it could be also a taser like device. Another thought containment tubes, think those big clear tubes but that they have 1 cm air holes that are wheeled around. Not really convent for the police though. A drug could be given upon arrest that prohibits the dralasites ability to shape change for a period of time. Automatically knocking at dralasites could be a police policy... drals might not like the space filth much. While unconscious they could be then rolled into a containment unit of some sort. Maybe a specialized stasis field is generated if the device on them registers them growing limbs changing shape? Some sort of smart "cuffs" with cuff really being a slang term.
