ChrisDonovan January 30, 2016 - 7:55pm | Once I got the basis for fuel economy figured out, I thought it would be interesting to monkey with the numbers to put actual engines in vehicles (ie Power Generators). So I took one example from each class of vehicles (Cycle, Car, Explorer/Transport, and Heavy/Aircraft). Took the listed Top Speed in KPH and used the Fuel efficiency to derive what type of generator would be needed to power that speed. It's a bit of an abstraction, but it works well enough for me. So: Cycles: Type AA generator Cars: Type A generator Explorers/Transports: Type 0 generator Heavy Vehicles/Aircraft: Type 1 generator As a check, I took the listed mass of generator and fuel and did a rough comparison with real world vehicles of that type. I got masses close enough to be happy with, allowing for the possibility of super-materials making masses lighter. |
